It's an early repress from 1973.

 

Only bought it about 8 years ago, so any credit is due to previous owner(s)

Many would say Boxer or High Violet, but I do like coming at a band from earlier albums.  The National (though not in yellow if you can help it 🙂 ) or Sad Songs For Dirty Lovers are good starting places in my book!  I am a little less enthusiastic after High Violet.

speaking of Prince - D'Angelo – Voodoo - very much influenced by the Purple GOAT - still brings tears to my eyes his live version on piano of Sometimes It Snows In April after Prince passed.

the cover version is not on an album. original obviously last track on Parade ( maybe only obvious to April Snow & me )  - hard to find due to copyright.    the audio is on the first link.  some guy who can't use his phone shows the performance on the 2nd.

Madeleine peyroux Careless love, fantastic album, her version of Cohen’s Dance me to the end of love is great.
