Hello. New user from Estonia, here are my two systems:

1. Main system (turned unused garage into mancave/home office):

Nottingham Analogue Ace Spacedeck turntable with Ace Spacearm

Hana ML cartridge

Tom Evans Microgroove+ phonostage

Primare DVD30 for CD/SACD

Unison Research S6 tube amplifier

Sonus Faber Cremona speakers

GIK Acoustics 244 full range bass traps and Impression series absorbtion/diffusion panels

For movies i have an 85" TV along with Marantz Cinema 70S AV-receiver, Sonus Faber Center Domus center speaker and Wall Domus surround speakers

To make funds for the turntable i sold my Rose RS150 streamer but planning to get another streamer soon again.

2. Livingroom system for background music and TV:

Bel Canto S300i with digital inputs

Sonus Faber Toy speakers

REL T5 subwoofer

Currently using Tidal app on TV to stream but will probably get a streamer here as well.

Welcome to SNA! Your house is gorgeous, I wish I had a view out my house like that! Why don't you put your large speakers in the main room?

Thanks!
I tried to put Cremonas in the livingroom but there are 3 reasons why i didn't keep them there: 1) acoustics are bad for critical listening and currently we don't want to add any acoustic treatment and/or thick curtains 2) in the garage i can listen while family is asleep 3) cats were very curious about the foam inside the bass ports but luckily i found out about their plans and took the speakers out of there 🙂

oh how I missed the Benchmark Monitor A200 Power amp. Found one on Facebook marketplace SA.

Had one in 2017 Sold it for very little money. regretted it. Tried to buy it back. buyer wouldn't sell it back to me. Tried many different amps since. Hypex, Aksa, ICE, GainClone, Sansui, GaN class D and in the end this is still better.

The DEEEEEEP basssssssssss. Sweet highs.

Running a Marantz CD player as a transport, Theta Cobalt 307 DAC, 10K stepped attenuator, Benchmark and Whatmough speakers.

Just spent a 4 year stint living in my car, yes, since the beginning of covid. Just got my own place last month and started with absolutely zero. After I got all the essentials needed to live again, the stereo was number one priority. Put this system together for 12 dollars. Speakers and stand were free and the amp and turntable cost me 10 bucks and 2 dollars to repair the turntable. Play Spotify through headphone to rca lead. Hey, atheist I got tunes, it's only up from here.

This arrived yesterday. Very welcomed timing.
Zanden 5000 LE DAC.
Tube based Philips TDA1541-S2 (Double Crown) chip unit with external tube power supply.
Recognised as one of the single best DAC’s money can buy and the ultimate implementation of the TDA1541. Only 12 ever made.
Looking forward to the Christmas break.

It’s a battle of the digital realm today.
The first run of the Zanden and it hasn’t disappointed.
Set up with the CEC TL0 hitting it out with my forever reference, the STAX DAC X1t & Wadia WT3200.
On the other hand, I did set up and dial in the Koetsu Vermilion on the 4P11 & Stabi M.
Joyous sounds abound. A great Saturday 👏

They even have a lego piece for the rectifier. And no doubt you can also roll the tubes. I like the big black bottles at the back. Black treasures.

I love that late 70's/ early 80's era Rotel gear. Stunning! My first serious system from that time was Rotel gear from Encel's, soon replaced by Luxman from the same retailer.....but gee the Rotel stuff looks nice.

Interesting speaker design, with the drivers on top of speaker as well. Reminds me of the Linn Isobariks.

what is the rationale for the driver placement on top of these speaker cabinets?
