Not mine but if I was ever to buy any commercial product or in this case speakers these would be the only ones I would buy. Before purchase you have to have wood floors reenforced due to the extreme weight. And of course no more flea powered tube amps though they are very efficient.

Fully optioned they are $1M US.

@NEP10, I never hang my head in shame, I enjoy the music on my system, I look at Gregg's system in awe, and say, well done , must sound amazing

Thanks!  I'm happy but that system is in another stratosphere.  😮

I see a pioneer/TAD supertweeter, TAD midrange horn, and some strange short J horn? Instead of the enormous cabinet for sub bass, I’d try these 105dB efficient and compact ones -   Crowe spiral horn

Happy with my 12” poly cones and 511Bs with FaitalPro drivers. And I didn’t need to reenforce the floor.

Never heard them and there is very few listening reviews but from what I have read they are exceptional. You probably would not need the extra bass box and could save a few dollars.

If I'm thinking of buying million dollar speakers I'm not worried about "saving a few dollars." 😆

Edit:  I hang my head in shame.

To alleviate the shame you could always blame it on weak neck muscles.

"My System Today"

Interesting thread title.

Agreed...

Why????

Some people (I would call them 'flippers') change their system constantly.

So why wouldn't they want to post "today's change"?

I'm new to this site and someone suggested I post pics of my system and linked me to the "My System Today".

Perhaps I should have started a new thread with a different title?

Anyway,  I do change my system quite often.  I have different power amps and preamps that I mix and match for a different flavor.  At present, I'm using the Kinki Studio EX-M1+ along with the Zu Audio DW6 Superfly's.

You can do either. Or both. Whatever works for you.

@NEP10 the title is " My system today", I think your point about changing your system to suit, the reason could be,your mood, music, trying a component  you have always wanted to hear, whatever.

I think this thread gives people insights into something they might not have considered, keep posting.

I like to pair my ss Classe pre with the Black Ice Audio tube amp.  And I pair the  Rogue Audio tube pre with the ss McCormack power amp.

I tried the tube pre and tube power amp together but didn't care for it.  It was just a little too much warmth for my tastes.

I also can run the Kinki as either a pre or power amp and try mixing that in with some with the other gear but haven't tried that yet.

You can post in this thread as that is what it is for "My System Today"

You can also start a separate dedicated thread on your system.

@mwhouston These are UK's Living Voice Olympiam and Kevin Scott has been making speakers a looong long time - at least 25 years. He tunes his sound by ear to a large degree not specs. His lower range box speakers look very ordinary but are very musical and I owned the Auditorium OBX-R2 (with external cross overs) for quiet a few years. He believes in letting the box vibrate naturally and breath/not dampening. His sound will appeal to those that want to connect emotionally to music and not necessarily be wow'ed by it e.g. huge soundstage, thunderous bass and imax type sound.  He prefers tube amplification incl Border Patrol, Art Audio, Kondo. For solid state he used to like Lavardin,  He largely plays classical but enjoyrs other genres too e.g. jazz, rock, pop.  I've met Scott at his factory showroom years ago before I bought my pair. It was a treat.  https://www.livingvoice.co.uk/

As you may know Ive built a couple of 71a amps and preamps. What can you tell me about yours.

Posted (edited)

hey @mwhouston i posted my 71a amp back in 2023 - link above. Since then I've done a few things to my 71a, reduced the gain significantly which was both stressing out the sound but also pushing my 71a rather hard. Replaced the RIFA caps Solen and M-Caps with Jensens. I've made other power and tonal changes to taste.  The generic push button on/off were also replaced with vintage copper UK switches which also quieten things down.  I also separately the B+ onto another toggle.

My new pre amp started life originally as a Consonnace 101D pre amp with power and regulation driven by 2A3 and 6SL7. Since then I've done a bunch of mods to it including adding vintage oil caps, changing wire for tone and other power / noise improvements.  I am now using LinLai's globe 101D and a Brimar 6SL7 which i love. The 2A3 are still mesh plates TJ Music.

They are certainly "Wow" to look at but seriously, if I was spending a million dollars on a set of speakers, I'd definitely want to be 'wowed' by the sound coming out of them.

I used to connect emotionally to the music with my old cheap Aaron speakers!😉
