Nor me.

Perhaps a good demonstration of function over form.

Hi all

Changes room positions  for the whole system set up.

Looks nice boned out to just amps, speakers, porcessor and CD player however, sounds better with bass traps front and rear of the listening area, rather than each side.

(whole move was brought on by 35m2 of floor re finishing, what a hell 14 days that was.,,,,,,dust on the ceiling even)

Big job , all pays off in the end. Looking swell.

My PSE144 finally don’t have to toe in and x over in front of you , they have been a fun unity horn with great potential yet to be fully extracted.
Finally image fab , thanks to ditching all Celestion Drivers in favour of Faital Pros.

It's getting there.

That area has been subject to major building works upgrades so the room acoustics for bass have been forever changing as job goes on. The PES144 has been a load of fun and after 6 years or so of ownership have been a very good HF platform among the others I play with. Plans are going ahead to acoustically treat the whole aea, rather than just in the lounge open to the kitchen.

Must try that now the room is longer the way it's set up.

Ah, what do you find the Fatal Pro drivers do "better" ? I don't mind the Cellestions they are a sweet easy listening driver with the right crossover and calibration.

Looking forward to playing with the speaker set up now the dust has settled after the floor was re finished. I didn't enjoy the process, dusty and disruptive, but the finish is nice.

Geez that looks slippery, LOL 😜

Surprisingly not actually. The shiny floor finished in Wattle 7008, 2 part gloss is not slippery but, as the finish wears in yes.

The soft coasters under the furniture feet do not slide well on the new floor, but well on the satin finish of the older floor, both in Wattle 7008

The opening scene would be TC going head over heals after hitting the rather grabby shiny floor out of the hall and into the lounge ............

The humble Celestions in the PSE144s just don’t cut it, esp the Comp Driver no matter what horn I tried it in. Ok for PA duties but not near field. Make good door stoppers instead.

That HF10ak driver has proved beyond expectations and likely the best kept secret driver out there.

I have the same FaitalPro compression driver in 511B horns. Glad I spent the money also.

As for your spanner collection, ever thought about just two shifters instead?

I build every audio device with two shifters, one small one large. I hope that statement doesn’t reflect on the quality of my work. Fortunately you can’t hear what was used to tighten RCAs etc or I would be I trouble.

Interesting and very useful information, thanks.

There has been issues with the stock driverset, must admit, nothing too dramatic.

Had a CD failure, not completely but it lost output down 8dB.

I've had to also attenuate a little the mids, swap them about to build the matching  "sets of 4", measured quite a lot of times to get it right. I will say though using DSP they seem to calibrate ok, accurately anyway and sound quite well due to the horn, don't mind them as they are lovely.

Any advantage in sound quality/character is well received here.  After the failure, there was a time of looking for other suitable drivers. The replacement was dirt cheap, went that way instead (you get what you pay for in speakers, fact)  so once the wallet has stopped bleeding for the house reno,,,,,,,

Great advice, I'm keen. You have done the hard work !!

(BTW nice tool set, I tend to trust people that look after their tools edit and ride bikes)
