I bought a Musical Fidelity X-A2 not working off stereoNet many years ago with no power supply. Found power supply on eBay. Everything was then put into storage (too hard basket)

4 years later. A competent Technician. Changed all not your average Transistors and it’s working again!!!

This sounds great! deep bass, sparkle in the highs and one of the best looking amps. Haven’t tried to push this amp but will do so soon.

Yes, the X Series is classic stuff.

I'm intrigued with your streamer. Can't see anything on the OAD site. Got any more detail?

Really surprised me with the XA-2 as I always thought it was all style no substance until I heard it. The only thing is mine has all new power transistors in it. Not the same as the original ones.

With the OAD streamer, it's a raspberry Pi based streamer with Jon adding his on flavour/tweaks to it. It can also be run Balanced out. Best to contact him directly if you want more info.

My system hasn't changed significantly since a DAC change just over a year ago. In the past two months I have upgraded the LAN filter and added a Waversa SmartHub 3.0 switch. The addition of a switch was always something I wanted to do and now that it's been in for a week, settled and I've had plenty of listening time I'm very happy with the quality of the streaming front end.

I haven’t heard of most of your gear apart from the steamer. My speaker and cabling have been the same for many years. Due to my excessive DIYing preamps and power amps (mainly all tube) are in constant change. In time most get sold.

The rationalization / simplification is now complete (at least for a while 🤗)

Jays Audio CD2 Mk3

Audio Synergy EDAC (Toob)

Lumin U2

Sugden Masterclass LA4

First Watt F8

AT 23 speaker cable

DeVore Fidelity O96 Orangutans 🦍

The EDAC is the main DAC for both the Jays CDT and the Lumin U2 via Stealth Sextet digital cable.

Sweet ✌️

Well, it's never really complete... is it 😋

A new DAC has arrived,  The Metrum Pavane which gets the streaming duties via USB from the Lumin U2, while the E-DAC handles the Jays CDT.

I so wanted to get a pair of the Fyne F502SP's and even though there was a very well priced new pair on ebay, I couldn't quite stretch the budget so settled for the non SP version (again, a well priced ebay offering🙂).

I can only imagine what yours sound like judging by what I'm hearing from the base model.👌

Fair jump from the 502 to the SP unfortunately. I was lucky enough that this pair came up used locally at a decent price so grabbed them. Very happy with my choice!

Not going back (to quote US politics 😋)

Have sold all my records now as well as all TT related gear.

The funds invested into the new Metrum DAC and Lumin U2 streamer and of course more wine 🥳

That might change to 'fortunately' when I retire and have access to my super in a couple of years.😉😆

Yeah, I know. Dropped a heap selling the records but it's the only way to totally get out.

No records - no desire for gear 😋

See how that goes ✌️

I'm interested in a pair of 502 SPs, or possibly 501 SPs, but one thing that puts me off them is that in the stock photos on the internet they appear to have a 'colour flash' on the right-hand side.  Call me superficial, but I don't think I could stand looking at that while I listen to music.

Your speakers don't appear to have it.  Are they an older pair from before this was introduced, or is what I am seeing a trick of the camera?
