Gregg Froman Posted January 3 Posted January 3 A couple pics of my current MBL/Rowland/Taiko System, and one old pic when I owned the Evolution Acoustics/Esoteric/Ayre components. 19 1 6
BugPowderDust Posted January 4 Posted January 4 Today has been spent dismantling my entire system so about $20k of new ArtNovion acoustic treatment can go up starting on Monday. I guess at least it is a good opportunity to clean dust off everything and get ready for mid week when it should be ready for listening again. 16 2 2

So the Focal Aria 936's handle 2 channel driven by the Exposure Classic XXVII dual monoblock and Exposure 2010S2 as a pre. The Whatmough's beside, middle and rear HT. Driven by the Marantz SR5013 with the fronts running through the Plinius 9200 ht bi-pass. Takes some pressure off the Marantz. The Pro-ject X2 B and Pro-ject Phonobox DS3 B are actually a balanced connection and the noise floor is crazy. Rose Hifi RS250 streamer does everything I want and sounds spot on. Droplet cd player well what can I say. The Aurex PC-X88AD isn't too shabby either and gets some use. That filled in a bit of time listening to Brothers in Arms PS - oh dear, yes that's myself and my lovely Mrs in the pic on the Marantz. I'm the one with the rough head! My system looks the same today as last week except there's no Sydney NYE fireworks story on tv. Just saying Actually thinking about grabbing some stands out and re-assigning some bookshelf/standmounts in for a week. Problem is which ones. One thing I notice going back to the smaller speakers is just how much better the imaging and soundstage is. You obviously get greater scale with floorstanders however you lose a bit of the other magic. Probably not as much with very high end gear however my budget only allows for mid-fi. Always a trade off between razor sharp imaging from bookshelf speakers to bigger bass extension from towers. These no free lunch. 5
