Thanks for your generous offers of support for us contributing to RP. Could you all please PM me directly with the amount you can donate, and we'll get this sorted today! Thanks again. In addition to the member donations we'll contribute $500 on behalf of StereoNET.

If you're not on the list above it likely just hasn't shown in our account yet.

We're up to $860 - hope it helps in some small way for RP continue doing what they do.

I use it more than other streaming services these days, and I appreciate that I don't have to think about what to play next!

I'm big fan of RP , listening on multiple devices.... My PayPal account is set for monthly donations directly to RP...better way to do it than one -off donations (IMHO).

Granted and that's awesome.

This was an opportunity for some to make a contribution though.

I found this interesting to see how many listeners currently streaming RP around the world.

333 listeners in Australia doesn’t sound like a lot however per capita it’s pretty good.

Take a look -

Well, we have more than the U.K.

I'm actually surprised by the overall low number. Was the time difference a factor, I wonder?

does anyone know what the big announcement is about?

William has suggested it has something to do with a company with a fruit type logo and RP.

Not sure if this is good or bad, he did say he was unable to speak about it at this stage. 🤔

Donation made on behalf of StereoNET members (and personal note of thanks from us added) to RP.
Thanks for your contributions everyone!

Interesting thanks - at the moment the MQA stream is the same as the CD stream.  Not that that will worry some here who prefer straight FLAC rather than MQA.

At the moment it is sounding a bit like SomaFM channel "Deep Space One" or "Drone Zone" that I sometimes listen to for ambient chill.   But I am still on the first (very long) track so I will see...

Just looked at the RP website and it says:

  Quote

Whilst whimsically wandering across the astral plane 42 linear light years ago, a neon purple minor-deva working for the Solar Logos of the Copernican System was directed to take form as a mile high psyber-human and serve this blue sphere we call home.  Its direct orders from Helios and Vesta: to assist in ushering in an era where positive energy activates constant elevation.  It’s primary motivation would be to facilitate interdimensional wormholes that help the resident beings of a particular space transcend the slowing down of light (matter), and come to a place of timelessness where they get to explore and discover little bits of themselves they didn’t realize existed....thus, allowing love to flow freely and make its way out to every entity in the surrounding multiverse.  This would be accomplished by traveling across the universe, recording the sounds of celestial objects, and gifting them to the humans of Earth for the sake of aural stimulation.

Rule 42 hopes you enjoy these transcendental auditory moments, and may you utilize them for the power of good.

Remember - Don’t panic, and definitely don’t forget your towel.

Glad this thread popped up.

I introduced a friend to RP accidentally a few days ago, because I left it (RP  Rock) playing in the background when they came to visit.   They commented on the good music, so I told them where it came from.   They have been trying it out and like it.

He did ask how they funded the station - but I don't know the answer to that.

It's entirely user supported.  I have it set-up to donate monthly in the same way a subscription to a streaming service would work.  I use it far more than any streaming service so it seems like a pretty fair deal to me!

Switched over to the global/world mix this week. It was the same playlists the last time I tried about 6 months ago.

Interesting, as the main mix is not repetitive.
