G'day all,

Any owners of the mentioned amplifier in Victoria or any distributors that carry the amplifier for retailers here in Aus?

Looking to audition and potentially buy one if it lives up to my expectations.

Cheers,

Not to my knowledge. It did the rounds via retailers last year. Not sure if any are still in the country for audition however.

It would pay to contact @nadist - the Australian distributors (NA Distributors) or a retailer.

Thought LWA in Sydney had it on show from time to time. Too expensive an amplifier to keep on a floor fulltime unless it was loan't by the distributor.

I did see it at Surround Sounds in Perth around a year ago driving some Focal Stella's, very nice.

It's not really an amp it's an apartment block (for very small people)

It would be very cramped inside, especially with that huge Tranny on the ground floor

It was here in Melb at the 2014 HiFi show and you need to register you name for an allocated time slot.

Impressive electronics, but not for everyone.   The SQ was wonderful with there top of the line speakers, can't remember the model but i also saw it  in a HK retailer 2 yrs ago.

However that said it has proprietry Electronics,  transistors with there logo...God help you if they decided to cease production or the support is no longer or the manufacturing to those device are no more such as what's happening with Toshiba.

Unbelievable timing. I just listened to it today.........in Bangkok. They have it setup full time now in a dedicated Focal store.

I was very very impressed. The speakers were Focal Stella Utopia and I think it sounded better than the Grand Utopias with VTL monos and a full Esoteric stack (I did listen to this a few months ago and in very different rooms).

I don't know if it helps but you could find an excuse for a Thai holiday to come and have a listen. The room was bass heavy/boomy and needs some traps. The room treatment is very thin but still the sound was amazing.18052183_10155601921912971_1178506475_o.thumb.jpg.9ed668f931edc234edb772916cdb5848.jpg

And the system from the AV show

I apologise for the compressed pics.

yeah, 1st impression is that it has the goods, very controlled bottom end.

I was more fixated in the unit itself and how they constructed the heatsink.

However, your thoughts crashes back to earth when the asking $240,000AU!

$230,000 is just for the power amps, if you want the matching pre-amp it's another $125,000 psychnpsvv.gif

Damn, no click to buy. I was feeling impulsive!

Heard the Statement pre/power a couple of weeks ago at a private home overseas. Within the context of a beautiful room (not an audio show) and all Naim system from source to speakers.

Superb control, stunning power and delicacy at the same time. A very memorable experience for this battle-hardened listener.

Cheers, EK

For the more budget conscious, just opt for the Soulution 701 mono amps, they are only $200k/pair :P

That last picture looked like the KL show from couple of years back. Huge hall with only curtains as partitions.

I missed my chance to hear them at the show in Melbourne a couple of years ago, when I got there the room was fully booked and the next session was too late for my flight back to Sydney.

Maybe one day. :)
