I reckon it's possible to resist. Tube rolled for some time with marginal results. You gotta know what you are doing otherwise it is about as enjoyable as a death march.

This may be a stupid question, but I have always been interested in a Weston integrated however I already have a 40WPC "all in one" SS integrated/streamer/phono pre/DAC. Is it possible to have an integrated custom made so that at the flick of a switch it can also work as a power amp OR for when we are just watching TV, to just have it bypassed completely and let the all in one power the speakers??? I suspect it's not possible but no harm in asking a dumb question.

This way I would not need to re purchase if I decided to move to separates again, and would not need to move speaker cables from device to device constantly.

I've been in contact with Earle, who has been very helpful and honest with his opinion, and he said that he's not 100% confident the Tempest will suit my Legend Kurre 9's, particularly if I wish to listen to them loudly (which I don't).

PM me if you are able to oblige and we can work out a time.

Cheers and thanks in advance.

Why did he says that? What's your speaker spec?

What did he say would suit?

My particular speakers have a sensitivity rating of 84dB so not highly efficient.

Yes.

Earle is making one for me and it literally has a switch.

Can you explain how this works, HR? Not sure I follow

Sorry it was a bit telegraphic.

The switch disables the preamp section so that so that I can use separate preamps.

I've asked for pre/power sockets in mine, so I can use it as a passive pre, but not sure it will have a switch. Sounds like a good feature

When the time comes, I'd like to get ask Earle if he'd be happy to add a HT bypass circuit to my pre. I have some future plans of HT integration but it will depend on if Earle is happy to mod my gear.

Until then, I'm happy to just enjoy what i have

I am also an Earle fan, started buying years ago, have ended up with the ultimate imho a 300B driving Quad ESL57 and the bass is great before you ask, it sounds so intimate and spot on for vocals. Again many thanks Earle.

Which version of 300B are you using with the Quad ESL 57s, Time Machine or Artisan?  And what is the power rating?

I’m using a different PSE 300B  with my 57s and the bass is great too and concur with your comments about the vocals!

Hi, I was using the Time Machine, then I read that the ESL’s can handle a bit more power so I connected the Opera’s and they made a huge difference so I have sadly now sold my 300B something I thought I would never do. Power output was 9 Watts now I’m running at about 24 Watts.

Hey....what became of your cool looking custom painted speakers btw? Sold? Those were really cool.

I contemplated the Time Machine SE 300B but was concerned about the low power output. Not sure of the Artisans power output.

I had used my ESLs with a range of SS and Valves up to 80wpc. The extra power does give that sense of ease, but I’m now using a PSE 300B with 18wpc.

Your ESL 57s look great. Really like the bronze/ gold colour of the grills.[emoji2]

Hi, do you mean the Dallas folded horns?

We are just in the process of buying a house and will end up with a dedicated media and listening room which I am looking forward to. The only thing is this more than likely given the set up the room will have that will mean I won't end up using the Time Machine any time soon. So I am considering if I will sell it or not and my question is given most on this thread are Weston owners what is a Time Machine 2a3 PP with a headphone jack and switchable pre-amp worth secondhand?

The valves are standard I believe, so nothing flash but the amp does sound bloody excellent in all of its 7watts of musical glory.

I was mainly using it as the pre for my PL Dialogue Premium Integrated, given the pre in the Weston sounded much nicer than the pre in the PL. But once I fitted E80CC's in the gain section instead of 12au7's then the PL went to another level.

I look forward to getting some feedback.

Artisan 300B.  Good in every way that matters.

I'm not into bling but you really have to admire an indeed beautifully handcrafted piece of equipment.  ?  :)
