I'm still digging them out of the far corners of the warehouse. I found a couple this afternoon that need to be checked..... They probably won't be ready until Friday.

Here's hoping that I make the cut.

In fact here's hoping that everyone who wants one makes the cut.

I wish we had one for everyone who wanted one..... sorry to those who will miss out. I didn't expect such a huge response...

Kind regards

Mike

I have a Halcro 2 channel power amp and all thanks to Magenta!!!!

(In hindsight I should have go a three channel power amplifier).

I got a great deal.

I am not surprised by the great demand for the Halcro SACD/CD player.

We could theoretically build more - we have enough parts. We could update the on-board DAC to something FPGA based and tidy up the Firmware. They would be a lot more expensive than these however - The secret to their stunning sound is the custom Swiss - built Transport - it's a killer! and looking at the cost of goods today - they were bloody expensive...

The problem is the guys are too busy working on the new amp.

here it is..... scoop... fancy nickel.... whohoo

Did you find any EC800 that are properly finished?

Presumably there'd be a commensurate price increase for those units right ?

Hi Mike.

Mate if during your ratting around in the factory you happen to chance on a front tray panel for the EC-800 could you let me know.

Trying to fit a new panel with the way it is  mounted could be rather difficult.

Cheers mate.

Looks like a dm88Mk2 with painted finish....waiting on the upgrade path option for dm88 owners.

As I mentioned I would be prepared to pay for a properly finished product....those unfinished ones going out the door is so un-Halcro.

However I'm reconsidering my spinner/DAC options and am contemplating ordering an Esoteric K-01X and word clock. But if Halcro were to pimp-up the spec and make an EC800Mk2 with digital input that would certainly get my attention.

So "Un-Halcro"???? Perhaps asked the people who were lucky enough to get one if they are disappointed....... This was an act of generosity on our part and I'm proud to have offered these to the good people on this forum........

These wonderful players may have sat unused in our factory for years otherwise..... At least now they are being enjoyed by music lovers and genuine enthusiasts who are part of this community..... if that's  un-Halcro then welcome to the new Halcro - where music matters most,,,

That's okay.  Whakpak's comments are so un-SNA.

You are a credit to the industry sir !!

I hope all the lucky members who got one of these units get lots of enjoyment from them, a wonderful act of generosity. :)

I can't wait till November to hear all the exciting stuff you guys have been working on !!

I'm sure it will be one of the highlights of the Hifi Show. :)

I could not be happier receiving mine and looking forward to carefully redoing the front. (will be a bit of a challenge but fun never the less).

I certainly don't regret in any way buying this unit part finished.

The audio quality certainly makes up for that.

A big thumbs up to Mike for giving all those who managed to acquire one the chance to own such a great bit of kit.

+1. Greatly appreciate what Mike did for this community and it is definitely huge bargain. Can't wait to see what Halcro offer for new product lines at HiFi show later this year.

I've had an association with the Halcro brand probably longer than anyone else here on SNA. I've certainly owned more of their products than anybody else here. The company used to pride itself on production perfection. Sending out unfinished product I think dilutes the brand. But with this new direction at least more people get to become owners and enjoy their wonderful products. That's a good thing. But I am entitled to my opinion about diluting the brand.
