I should add that I used vinyl for 25 years and it was the portal via which I discovered so much music.

That's nice I guess.

Today we have Youtube, Spotify, websites, internet radio etc which IMO work to far greater effect, discovering new music that is.

They are awesome. I use them all the time (well not Spotify). It makes it easy. I guess sometimes we appreciate the things we achieved that weren't easy more than those we achieve that were.

I hate that I said that..

Couldn't agree more, but I can do without the very subtle patronisation. When someone says something is nice I guess, it's classic. So if it's all the same to you, I can do without it:winky:

My point was that I discovered the music using the technology available at the time and had numerous amazing discoveries and years of joy and inspiration. These days I get the same joy from CD, LP and various other sources and discovering new music is easier than ever

Now that's out of the way, we can move on. I know you don't mind me being honest:)

I got what you meant. And if we're being honest I find some of your posts patronising too. Especially when you're patting yourself on the back about being format agnostic and it comes across that you think anyone who's not is a bit of a wanker.

But, continue on. :)

Got it wrong again. I am 100% format agnostic and I don't self congratulate like you.

I mainly use CD and I use vinyl as an interesting back up. I can see why people like both. You are also wrong about me thinking people are foolish for not being agnostic. I don't care how people access and discover their music,it's really none of my business ...........or even yours:P

No I'm not wrong because I referenced your posts not what you think, there is a difference. I can't see what's really in your mind. But it's irrelevant, it's your posts that matter. Maybe have a think about how some of them come across.

Ditto for you. Pot kettle black.

Anyway, please feel free to ignore my posts forever....  if they piss you off so much. Also, skip the lectures.

Thanks.

Nope, I knew I was being a bit patronising when I posted before and I meant it and I'm being totally honest about it. I was fine with the ways things were, you being patronising, me being patronising. It was you who complained first, not me. Can't we just go back to way things were? :party:lol:

Ah, this old chestnut raises it's ugly head again and it remains clear to me that the poor digital loving crowd here still don't get it.........vinyl always was, still is and will continue to be better than digital!:thumb::na:

I think this is the original and the best. Vote one for close dancing and direct to ear recording/reproduction.

Billy.

Yes you have clearly demonstrated that it's a fact that it's your opinion :)

No, my opinion is not the fact, it's just my opinion................the superiority of vinyl over digital is the demonstrable fact!:P

Hi Keith.

I have asked this before in the thread but I am interested in your opinion also. I bought myself a VPI Nomad and had a Shelter MM cart fitted in lieu of the Ortofon red. First thing is I am enjoying it very much indeed, but hand-over -heart, I really don't feel it is better ( ore even equal to ) my CD setup so....what do I need to do ( or buy ) to get the magic that is so often mentioned. ?It seems to me that vinyl can be superior but doesn't compete at price points below $2K perhaps?

Your advice and opinion would be most welcome:)

Hi Lindsay,I posted here in Terry's thread mainly with the aim of poking some fun at the digital boys here on SNA, so most of what I've said above should be taken in that context, please. I don't wish to hijack this thread anymore than I've already done, so I'll shoot you a PM soon.

Cheers,

Keith

Hi Keith . Thanks mate.

I must say I never had any doubt about your tongue-in-cheek remarks being anything other than having a laff:)
