Santa1503559644 Posted May 17, 2004 Posted May 17, 2004 Just wondering whether anyone else is actually watching the "new" series "Oz", on SBS Monday nights? IMNSHO, its easily up there in the "top three" series on TV (with Sopranos & Six Feet). Interestingly, they are all HBO productions. I've only seen one ad for it (though I dont watch SBS much nowadays) - and none before the series started, so many people may not have known it was coming up (pity, because the first episodes were important, of course). Apart from showing the Iron Chef (!), I haven't had much reason to praise SBS for a long time, but well done on having the guts to buy & screen such a top quality (if "controversial") series! ________________________________ PS: "New" = 1997. PPS: My description of the series for those who havent seen it: "Makes the Sopranos look like Playschool!"
Timmy Downawell Posted May 17, 2004 Posted May 17, 2004 It's an excellent series. However I have already downloaded all 56 episodes and watched them.
Widescream1503559516 Posted May 18, 2004 Posted May 18, 2004 Yeah, I've being watching it. a bit unpleasant subject matter, but very well done. Can't wait for Six Feet Uder to return to 9 though ...one of the best shows ever made.
Santa1503559644 Posted May 18, 2004 Author Posted May 18, 2004 Can't wait for Six Feet Uder to return to 9 though... Isn't "Six Feet Udder" that show about the really mad cows I've heard Nine originally said it would be back months ago (Jan?), but as always, we're lucky to get anything these days! IMNSHO Six Feet "drifted" quite a bit last series, hopefully the new stuff will be back to its best. (BTW: I loved the opening scenes of most episodes - all those "last moments" - what a classy way to introduce each show!)
Widescream1503559516 Posted May 19, 2004 Posted May 19, 2004 IMNSHO Six Feet "drifted" quite a bit last series Even a driftin' Six Feet Under episode is still miles better than most other programs, especially these days as most TV is dumbed down and we have all this evil "reality" crap to contend with.
Santa1503559644 Posted May 19, 2004 Author Posted May 19, 2004 Speaking of driftin', last night's Sopranos certainly made up for the slightly below par first two eps. That Uncle Junior scene, watching "Curb Your Enthusiam" was a classic!! I'm still laughing! Bada Bing!
