Well just spoke to a rep from LG and was informed that there new line up of HD capable TV's has a chip (roughly 3cm wide x 3cm long and about a millionth of a mm high) built in that is a HD digital tuner. So no need for the HD box externally.

Well that would be fantastic, I just looked up the US LG site and they don't even sell CRT TV's in the US by the looks of it, so its strange they would go to the trouble of releasing iHDTV sets here.

Samsung now has a big range of CRT iHDTV sets in the US.

I believe LGs US subsidiary Zenith make integrated HD CRT TVs.

Most of the new line up of LG's new HD capable TV's will have HD Tuners built in.

Hooray!......So does that include plasmas ? - that would be a first for a flat panel I think to have a integrated HD digital tuner. should help on the uptake of these units and hopefully bring down the price.

LG sells CRT TV's in US under Zenith name, which is wholly owned by LG.

Here is the link to Zenith website which shows their CRT's with built in OTA and digital cable tuners. http://www.zenith.com/home_flash.asp?flash=true
