How many users of this forum use their full name as a username, include their suburb, and also reveal a 10 line description of all their thousands of $$$$ worth of equipment in their signature.

I am an honest person, but others browsing this forum may not be, it is not a difficult process to find out where you live.

"Woof! Woof! Woof woof!"

"What's that, Lassie? Timmy's fallen down a well?"

"Woof!"

What's this Scottish bias, it should read:

"Tich tich tich!"

"What's that, skip? Timmy's fallen down a well?"

"Tich!"

Alfred the Great was my recently departed British Bull Dog.

And I just bought and installed one of those antennae that George always recommends for my shop (it's within a shopping complex!) and the reception is bloody brilliant.

Well spotted, Mork,

I'm going to change my avatar in case anyone recognises me in Lane Cove.

Oh no! Someone's going to break into the workshop and take all the little kids' presents!

I knew I shouldn't have revealed that I was holidaying in Perth, rather than the Pole!

While I agree its not too smart to give out too much personal info, I dont think that many crims are surfing this forum! (Though, maybe some of those infamous prison internet "self improvement" computers are viewing this as we speak!). Oh, well. Haven't you heard the "honour amongst enthusiasts" saying?

BTW: Here's another reason against nice slim, portable plasma screens! Try lugging an 80kg CRT about! (But bummer about the Strong PVR in black - much more likely to be taken than the Toppy ("Hmm, looks seventies, I think I'll leave that one!") :P

While we are on the topic, I was broken into many years ago and the only thing they didn't take was the Beta video. They even took the cables from the back of it. So buy up as many Beta videos you can, prise the badge off the front and glue it to your most prized possesion.

Best of luck,

Dik

On that note, I also got robbed a few years ago. From my selection of a/v components at that time, they chose only to take the two month old VCR and two year old 21" Panasonic TV, plus every single remote they could find (including the one for my PC's TV card, which was in the bedroom). Apart from that, they left behind a very nice Harman Kardon amp, Denon tape deck, a noname tuner and my PC itself, but took a power drill and half my CDs (the good half, not the crap ones).

I may not have been so lucky if my neighbour from the opposite flat hadn't arrived home at the time. He only realised something was amiss after saying g'day to the guy on the stairs with the bulky sports bag, then, as he was about to close his door, he noticed my door was broken.

At least now, like Santa suggests, I might be safer because my Grundig weighs 55kg and I doubt the average thief could lift it, let alone carry it down three flights of stairs.

I would encourage everyone to have a silent telephone number. Not only can you use a real name, but those damned tele-sales people don't bug you!

Anyone know a good realestate agent I can use to sell up and move ?

What's the point of robbing you, Groover?

You just sold all your good stuff!

Just a hint on the proper use of the language, those words should not be used in the same sentence in close proximity.

Exceptions do exist where the adjective is used as a modifier for words or phrases like, bonfire, thrashing, shark bait, jail sentence etc.

You forgot "hiding", "whupping", etc!

Or maybe the answer to the question is "the only good realestate agent is a..." (ending removed so as not to panic Angelo!)

Of course, you're forgetting the electoral roll. Don't feel bad, even Peter Garrett couldn't remember it.
