Did you make the plinth yourself?  They both look great.

after many years of searching …

Sansui SR-636 Direct Drive

Built  - 1978

Had been in storage for many years, still in original box/packing with original headshell and SN43 Cart.

One of Sansui’s finest Turntables, I believe these were made for Sansui by Micro Seiki.  Same spec as the SR-838 but PLL Servo and not Quartz Lock.

Set up now with an AT540 Microline and it sounds superb… 👌🏼

I really like your plinth. Do you have a link to how you made it?

It's just a hollow plinth with the same hold downs as a generic lenco. It was manufactured though by a local carpenter.

Have been through a few turntables, Dansette :D , Denon, Silver, Pioneer, AKAI, Stanton and then went full retro and manual with a CEC Japan built Linear Design GST1 which has a great sound and looks fabulous.

Nice TT...I'm intrigued by that floor...:hyper:

It’s a “vinyl” floor.  I took LPs beyond playable and cut them into tiles.

Nothing exotic here, Project Espirit, carbon tone arm, glass platter. But then again, I’m a vinyl denier,(except for the artwork of course). Ortofon red cartridge. Do love the look of a well engineered deck though. Can attest to the IKEA chopping boards and 4 ball bearing  isolation platform. See You Tube. Also have an Audio Tecnica set up for ‘78s.

It has been a long time coming, but I finally sourced a late Ekos 2 (couldn't afford the SE) to replace the Jelco arm I have had for some years. The rest of the LP12 has been substantially upgraded over the years, to the point that I have a second LP12 built up of the bits replaced by upgrades.. So we have Hifiguru redgum plinth/cirkus/kore/trampolin2/lingo4. And the effect of the Ekos 2 has been pretty impressive. Has a much more punchy presentation and bass is much tighter.  (as an aside, fitting the Delos in the small head shell, was a challenge that lead to the demise of a set of headshell leads! Clearance for the aftermarket tonearm cable was tight too, and needed a bit of ingenuity)

I had exactly the same issue a few years ago when attempting to fit the Delos to Linn arm. Ended up having to gently bend the end of the leads so it could fit!! Glad you got there, I remember how annoying it was at the time.

Time to dust off a couple of vintage decks for a run.

Here’s the wonderful Sony PS-8750, one of their best ever integrated models.

Wow Charlie you have had some amazing gear flow through your room!

Have you tried any other carts on your Bokrand arm? I have one on order and not sure what to use until I am tooled up (cashed up) for an SPU.
