TD19 Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Golden Age Audio's Univector 12" would be an excellent fit. Cheers, Keith Many thanks for that suggestion, Keith. Have just visited the website ... some definite possibilities there!
Dr Good Vibe Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 (edited) My freind just sent me some pic's of his new table. Still a bit of work to do but wow. Edited July 19, 2014 by Dr Good Vibe 2
metal beat Posted July 19, 2014 Author Posted July 19, 2014 (edited) WOW I am almost blinded by the bling! Does your friend wear a lot of gold chains? Table seems to be sitting in the middle of the room, illusion? Edited July 19, 2014 by metal beat 2
soundfan Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 I would NEVER own a turntable that looked like that. 2
audacity Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 My freind just sent me some pic's of his new table. Still a bit of work to do but wow. Would not have even pegged that for a turntable. Looks like a bad prop from a Schwarzenegger sci-fi movie. 1

Newman Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 My freind just sent me some pic's of his new table. Still a bit of work to do but wow. There's a turntable in there, right? 2
metal beat Posted July 19, 2014 Author Posted July 19, 2014 There's a turntable in there, right? I believe it is a podium stolen from an upmarket strip club 3
metal beat Posted July 19, 2014 Author Posted July 19, 2014 (edited) I get to use the same photo twice Ken, the turntable looks nervous, surrounded by all those CD's Did the Dyna arm require the suspension springs to change at all? Edited July 19, 2014 by metal beat
andyr Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 I get to use the same photo twice What is the 'Eleven' below your LP12, Ken? A phono stage? I had a DV505 on my LP12 for 20-odd years. Lovely arm ... but from the tests Duc has done (yes, I know he's biased! ) and my own experience with his arm, I suggest a 9.5" Univector will be an upgrade. Also, for several years, I had my LP12 sitting on an isolation platform comparable to yours - 'xept mine was a slate slab sitting on squash balls. Sure this isolated the plinth from the benchtop it was resting on (I could hit the benchtop with a hammer while a record was playing and no "thunk" came from the speakers) ... but in some tests I subsequently did with a mate who has an LP12 - so knows its sound well - the sound was improved by removing the isolation platform and putting the LP12 on a wall-shelf (using the normal LP12 feet). Regards, Andy
Newman Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 There's probably a Ten under the Eleven. We know the Eleven is under a Twelve. The dude has humour. 1
Willco Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 Ken is being Modest-ha!-- I used the DV507 /LP12 Combo--must say mine didn't last for 20 years! It is indeed a fine combo--in spite of the Arm/weight/Spring configuration--the "balancing act" required was not for the faint hearted. Willco

Number 9 Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 I reckon it's an absolute marvel - an engineering work of art! If the Art of Engineering had ever had a Gothic Surrealist Movement, then yes.
Guest Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 Some might consider that poor form @@Number 9, given you're also a turntable manufacturer (and your commercial interests are not declared in your signature, as per the Website Guidelines). 2

metal beat Posted July 20, 2014 Author Posted July 20, 2014 Could have got a sexier model What differentiates this besides the thicker plinth from any other Rega? 2
Guest Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 What differentiates this besides the thicker plinth from any other Rega? Probably best for another thread. 1
ArthurDent Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 (edited) Ken, the turntable looks nervous, surrounded by all those CD's Doesn't bother it at all. The CD's on the other hand live in constant fear. 33rpm oh, the horror. Did the Dyna arm require the suspension springs to change at all? It did but it's not as big a deal as some make out.
