Vesh Posted February 10, 2005 Posted February 10, 2005 Im still doing up my HT and im getting sick of playing CDs on my DVD player. Im looking to a reasonable entry level 5 disc player. What sort of cash do i need for something that will do the job, and what should i look for when considering one? Any experiences would help too... Regards

Tim <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ----------------------------- I was looking at some 5 disc dvd players, but not sure if these would be as good as a single disc dvd. i am probably leaning towards a 5 disc cd player, and another single disc unit for dvds. but if people say that the 5 disc dvd units are good enough i may jus consider that and save a couple of hundred

Guest EZYHD Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 I just bought a Sony 5 disk player for $245 from Retravision, works very well. I have 4 of my favorite Music DVD's in it with 1 slot to spare for a movie.
Vesh Posted February 14, 2005 Author Posted February 14, 2005 Ive basically decided about a 5 disc dvd player, but why should i spend alot more on a yamaha unit? Yamaha DVD-C750....... RRP $500 Sony DVPNC675S......... RRP $300 Both 5 disc dvd players, but is the yamaha that much better? The sony has DAC: 12bit/54MHz Video DAC, and the yamaha 108MHz/12-bit video DAC. I have absolutely no clue what on earth these numbers mean, but this seems to be the only main advertising difference between the units on the web sites. thank you again for your help

OR Am I missing something Here cheers
andczo Posted February 15, 2005 Posted February 15, 2005 I have one for a couple of reasons... I have the system not only for HT but also fo listening to audio CD's in the lounge room so having the CD's ready to go in a changer that doesn't always require feeding and changing is a great bonus.... This brings me to reason number 2.... I'm lazy...
Guest EZYHD Posted February 15, 2005 Posted February 15, 2005 I find my 5 disk player very convienient for CD's & DVD's too and yes I do laeve my favs in there for weeks sometimes.
