Santa1503559644 Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 Abu "Ronnie" Bakar Bashir is going down! However, the lightweight term was to be expected I suppose...
ijd Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 Hmmmmm ... Two and a half years for conspiring to kill 202 innocent bystanders ... that's just 4.5 days for each murder!! Even shoplifters get more than that for stealing a can of Coke!!

(even if tried by our legal $y$tem)
Ted1503559509 Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 I guess Ward Churchill would say that Aust had it coming to them as we suck up to USA. Hmmmmm ... john1503559500 Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 Strange world, Bashir gets 2.6 years for a bombing yet Schapella Corby faces death ora very long jail term for a crime that follows no logic- why would a person traffic drugs to a country that a a plentiful cheap supply of drugs? Add to that the USA's plans to renew military tie with Indonesia; its just one **** up world

The installment of putrid Rice has changed all that.... BTW: Lets hope that there isnt too large a massacre in Beirut, now an "organised" people's protest movement is being "helped" by GWB to remove the Syrians... another case of staged "people power" for the cameras...* ____________________________________________________ *No, I'm not some Syrian supporter ... the Syrians can get out of Lebanon; the Israelis can get out of all their occupied territories (formal and informal); the Yanks can get out of Cuba, Iraq, etc...

But Ted, If "Honest John" does not act an obedient child, Bush might refuse to return Howard's calls and Rice might decide not vistit us anymore; this is basically what happened to Canada's PM for refusing to take part in the Defense Shield. http://www.voanews.com/english/2005-03-01-voa23.cfm http://www.canada.com/national/nationalpos...37-4877b528b5d9

Ted1503559509 Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 just talk at the moment and will probably dismiss it like Dubya has with Old Europe - France and Germany, but could be a good thing for Canada anyway. Strategically, Australia is extremely important to USA particularly with rise of China and an alliance as now with USA not necesarily a good thing for us in the future. Tradewise: I think it best to go the way of China as it participates more with the WTO and eventually floats their currency. Let USA fall from super power status and suffer its consequences.
