(Frames are shown twice for film) 1080i = 1920x1080 with 50 interlaced fields/sec (shown in 25p with film, ie most American stuff) [1440x1080 is used with some stations here] 567p... I think you mean 576p = 720x576 with 50 progressive frames/sec. (Frames are shown twice for film) 576i = SD, 720x576 with 50 interlaced fields/sec. (shown in 25p with film, ie most American stuff) Typical desktop monitor resolutions include 800x600 and 1024x768. With film on 1080i, the only way you'll be able to view them progressively would be through a computer which you would be able to tell not to deinterlace it.
