Santa1503559644 Posted May 10, 2005 Posted May 10, 2005 Very dissapointed in Treasurer Peter Costello's in not giving members of the dba forum a plasma screen cheers laurie <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What?!?! I think you'll find he's giving plenty of members plasma screens - well, a tax-cut to the equivalent value! OK - I won't mention any names, high-end audio fans, but we know who you are...
Dlite1503559993 Posted May 10, 2005 Posted May 10, 2005 the tax cuts don't happen until 2006 as well. Why plasma anyway... CRT is better in just about evey aspect except size anyway. You are all victims of marketing :-).
Santa1503559644 Posted May 10, 2005 Posted May 10, 2005 But I don't pay any tax! How can I afford a plasma?? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, and neither do some of the high-end audiophiles probably! I wouldn't waste your money on a plasma, George! (Do you really have the room* for it?) *Ie: Sufficient seating distance
Santa1503559644 Posted May 10, 2005 Posted May 10, 2005 the tax cuts don't happen until 2006 as well. Why plasma anyway... CRT is better in just about evey aspect except size anyway. You are all victims of marketing :-). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Because plasma is more expensive! (Previously I'd simply say "because Plasma is a ripoff", but they're finally descending from the stratosphere/cloud-cuckoo-land) And, btw, the "audiophiles" will be saving at least $2,162 in the 05/06 FY supposedly... (then $4,502 in 06/07, when real HD plasmas will presumably exist).
gclark8 Posted May 10, 2005 Posted May 10, 2005 Santa, yes your right, 2x4m back porch is too small. Might go ok in the bike room for a computrainer, VGA, so nothing is lost on a 480 line display. How do they expect us pensioners to keep up with technology?
KT Faith Posted May 11, 2005 Posted May 11, 2005 And, btw, the "audiophiles" will be saving at least $2,162 in the 05/06 FY supposedly...(then $4,502 in 06/07, when real HD plasmas will presumably exist). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> BUT WAIT there's more..... I'm thinking of naming my next racehorse "Goodbyesuper Sir Charge"! KTF
Binxx Posted May 11, 2005 Posted May 11, 2005 Best is no tax deduction on plastic surgery Does anyone know why one could claim cosmetic plastic surgery as a tax deduction in the first place?
Foggy Posted May 11, 2005 Posted May 11, 2005 Best is no tax deduction on plastic surgery Does anyone know why one could claim cosmetic plastic surgery as a tax deduction in the first place? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> My modelling career wouldn't have gone anywhere without it.
Santa1503559644 Posted May 11, 2005 Posted May 11, 2005 Initial confirmation that the punters agree with Santa ... HN shares went up "thanks to the budget"...
mello yello Posted May 11, 2005 Posted May 11, 2005 ...what no plasmas?? Talk about a Feral Budget!!!
mello yello Posted May 11, 2005 Posted May 11, 2005 ..no plasmic surgery?....what is this a banana republic? (Paul are you there?)
Santa1503559644 Posted May 11, 2005 Posted May 11, 2005 ...what no plasmas?? Talk about a Feral Budget!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> OK - he's the Feral Treasurer, but that doesn't mean he can hand out plasmas to just anybody ... its not even enough to be a fully fledged member of the Aspirational Classes - you have to have at least beaten this month's sales targets (without over-taxing your black Audi TT), if not made good use of the law degree you bought with the equity from your parents' third investment property to qualify for a free third plasma! OK, so what about the (as the Shock Jocks would say) "so-called poor"? ...More BB bread & circuses, and they'll be eating out of the palm of Howard's hand faster than you can say "Tampa on the horizon at 9/11!"...
mello yello Posted May 11, 2005 Posted May 11, 2005 who was that dude walking around Iraq with wads of cash falling out of his guccis and a barishnikov over his shoulder ? bet he got one
mello yello Posted May 11, 2005 Posted May 11, 2005 wasnt his excuse that he ran out of petrol and was just popping down to baghdad to get his gerry can filled?

mello yello Posted May 11, 2005 Posted May 11, 2005 If you are talking about little dubya (aka mini dubya) must have been a gerry-mander can then. I hear you can still get them in qld if you look hard enough. Or you could buy online from Florida via eBay...
John_Barber Posted May 11, 2005 Posted May 11, 2005 who was that dude walking around Iraq with wads of cash falling out of his guccis and a barishnikov over his shoulder ? bet he got one <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What the hell was he doing with a former male lead of the Bolshoi ballet hanging over his shoulder. Surely Mikhael would have tried to get away, unless someone was pointing a Kalashnikov at him. JB

ToeCutter Posted May 11, 2005 Posted May 11, 2005 For any medical expenses over a certain amount (I think $2000-) you can claim a 20% rebate. This system didn't rule out plastic surgery, so I know a few girls who got boob jobs for ten grand and got a significant amount back. They actually made a point of doing a few things done (eye surgery etc) in the same financial year seeing as how they were over the threshold.
