JB2 Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 Hi Just wondered if anyone else has noticed improved TV reception on cloudy days ? I am in Sydney and every 3 months or so when you get a cloudy day my TV reception seems a little better I have always wondered if the signals bounce across the clouds ?? (No I am not on drugs !)
alanh Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 JB2, Variations in density of the air is due to its temperature. It will act to bend the waves just like a prism with light. So your observation is true. Usually this effect is more marked over water and in the early evening in summer. AlanH
JB2 Posted August 4, 2005 Author Posted August 4, 2005 Thanks for that Alan Hey today is a cloudy day ! (would be funny if it sprinkled)
