Jamon...? That's what she said, Nudey. And I told her "no wonder it went mouldy if you left jam on it...".

And some stuff called madeira...:love

Madeira is so retro as to be way cool... Henriques & Henriques 10 YO Sercial is my fav.

I have always liked the look of the Rotel Michi range, as far as big power amps go. Classy. I lusted after a pre /power combo in my youth, and was lucky enough to hear those amps on a few occasions. But triple my budget at the time.

Are you going to get the DPS or the Schroeder version?

TT,

When those Lotto numbers come up, I will plump for the dps 3 and, of course, the Schroeder Reference. Apart from the looks of the dps, which I like much better, I like the design philosophy and detail in the dps. And the platter and bearing of the dps was based on design input from Schroeder. Combine that with the excellent isolation and 3 phase power, not to mention stunning elegance, of the derplattenspeiler and I reckon this one is a winner.:love

Legend has it, if you look very closely at this image, that there is a image of a sony walkman hidden in there somewhere, though I have yet to see it

:love

Beats me, Maarkeroonie :D Must be one of those trick things, like those pictures of all the dots which are supposed to reveal something when you squint your eyes....:D

I was fortunate enough to own a Michi pre/power combo many years ago.

Sold them off when I briefly flirted with valve gear...........now have regrets as they are virtually impossible to obtain on the second-hand market.

She doesn't come with the speakers?? :D False advertising, Aslan! :D

If Andrew could curve the edges of the R1s no-one would notice Maddy

+1 on Rotel Michis (when seen up close). Beautiful metalwork. Sounded great too.

Officially released in Oct 1979 at the Japan Audio Fair. came with a rebadged Micro Seiki tone arm. U should have bought it.

spot on and I should've  but it was very heavy and would have been too tricky to pack and bring back to Aust. But I got my hand on this Valve amp instead and it still remains a champion in my book. Ah well....

evening 56,

the lockheed chaise was made in a series of 6 and when first released sold for $3000 each,S.A.art gallery bought one of the first originals.not a bad investment as brad pitt sold his recently at a sotherbys auction earlier this year for about $980000,the highest price for a contempory piece of furniture.designed by marc newson,an aussie.

The stand mount model (mini II) is selling for $40,000. So I can only dream for now....but maybe one day.. .....zzzzzzZZZZZ. We don't even have distributor or importer here in Aust. Maybe NZ is the only place that I maybe can catch a glimpse of them.
