Dlite1503559993 Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 Thanks Dlite... I think you may be right, anyone know about thier reputation or had dealings with them? A lot of items start very low and seem to have autobids on them, was thinking about the Klipsch SF2's if they went for a low price.ie here? http://www.audioconnection.com.au/trade.asp?cat=6 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Klipsich are good speakers though they are far too forward for my tastes. Combined with a Digital AMP like the Panny's I'm sure these things would just shreek. But in the right system they could be quite good, I would say they are better for HT than music.

zorg1503559539 Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 thanks alain and dlite - much appreciated... think i might wait before i rush and hopefully find some pre loved ones from one of the purists on the forum... I did have a pair of KG4's previously and did like the sound, paired with a Sony amp.
Skid_MacMarx Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 Ebay: A nice little earner for 2500 Aussies
MrBurns84 Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Ebay: A nice little earner for 2500 Aussies <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Lol..well 3bayOz is back again with the same add for the same Linn preamp...and now he starts the bid at $3500+...lol..i wonder when he will pull/retract the bid on this one as well...
norpus Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 He's back.....jonalanat <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sheesh!
zorg1503559539 Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 look at the start price.... ouch... wonder where he pulls the fotos from.. All fake feedback no doubt..
betty boop Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 He's back.....jonalanat <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I reckon one of us if living anywhere close to this charecter should actually pop around to have a look. Surely given the huge dba membership must be somewhere living around the corner from him. !

Could be mistaken. jonalanat, was obviously just suspended. Now back in all his glory! Wonder how long he will last this time?
Carrera1963 Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 I bought some speakers from him a while ago - nothing dodgy about the auction (no shill bidding), and got them for a good price. These recent auctions seem a bit suspect though...

Now back in all his glory! Wonder how long he will last this time? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yep it was me, I met the guy had no problems with him... his feedback is genuine... I don't think he was suspended, probably just waiting on a shipment from where ever he gets his gear. His methods are a little dubious, although I think it is aimed at maximising his profit rather than any con job or improper dealings. Can't remember where he lives exactly... somewhere not far from here if I remember correctly. Fairfield I think.

Fingers Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 So, I'm a newbie here..... How exactly do you lose money..... is it a matter thaqt you end up paying for something that you NEVER get.......? or is it something to do with the auction itself........? Fingers.

Fingers. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's really about the questionable practices, he employs in his sales. Dont really know, whether you would recieve your goods without any hassles. Not really game to give it a shot. Not this sucker!!!

Fingers. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You always get what he is selling... the problem is in the methods he may or may not use to get the prices he gets and ending auctions early. Another guy that is a little questionable is Boris (Hndzoff is his ebay Id) but once again you always get what you pay for, he just ends auctions early if they are not going to reach the price he needs (ie his cost price).

Thats fair enough, I would'nt treat buyers in that fashion, but hey, everyone else is not me. Good luck to them! It all comes down to a little thing called "Kama".
scottylans Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 Also watch out for an eBay seller named '3bayOz' who frequently has both old and new Linn equiment for sale, usually with a ridiculously low starting price. The provenance of the items he is selling are dubious and certainly not from official Australian import channels. Items have frequently been withdrawn, relisted etc. Damn, he has some Tannoy Revoloution R2 speakers up on ebay which look really good ..... I was considering bidding. EDIT: I guess if he's importing them from Singapore could they be fake, or still the real deal from Tannoy?

Mike Kakay Posted December 4, 2005 Author Posted December 4, 2005 Do you mean KARMA ? That'd be the one, Mr barber All decievers, will eventually get their comeuppance!
Guest Conifer Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 My Ebay account got compromised....meaning someone got all my detials Ebay emailed me saying they have changed my password to be on the safe side.. So I had to change everything just to be sure....user name and a really long password
zorg1503559539 Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 that sucks toet with the amount of money ebay have you really think they should have better security.... whats wrong with a password and PIN?
Guest Conifer Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 What really gets to me is.......the communication through EMAIL!!!!! They gave me some intructions to follow and they were so poorly written out! I work on a IT help desk and you can't assume people know what your talking about even if they use your product. I said to the lady, can I please contact you via phone instead of this throwing of emails everywhere!!

I work on a IT help desk and you can't assume people know what your talking about even if they use your product. I said to the lady, can I please contact you via phone instead of this throwing of emails everywhere!! Oops, you had better delete your account and/or change everything *via the ebay website*. You have been fooled by one of the oldest tricks in the net book, which is harvesting your details by sending you an email that is formed to look like it came from ebay, but is actually just a (poorly written, they all seem to be!) "fisching" email to get your details and password. Well, that is what it sounds like to me. (I get heaps of "your Barclays bank account has been compromised, please confirm your details *here* to re-activate your account" and such emails lately, very poor grammar in most of them too, and of course I don't actually have a Barclays bank account, but I guess it is one of the more popular banks in the world so they will fool someone with a message like this).
