Have you ever played Halo or Halo 2? If not play them and then tell me that the ps3 has better games. What a load of garbage! Most games these days you are able to get on both consoles except a few & Halo's are one of them.

yes i have..im a fan of 1st person shooters and i didnt enjoy either games at all...

and youre right..there are a few games that are not available on each console..like GT4...RE series..and ofcourse some of the best RPG series

but i'll be playing the PS3 for the games..simple as that

if you wan't good innovation and GOOD games that are fun and different, you wan't to stick to nintendo.

If you wan't something sort of in between you are probably looking at sony

PC clones on the console, microsoft is your best bet.

Again it will come down to what type of games you enjoy playing. I for one hate rpg games and love fps. I find it hard to believe that you like fps games and didn't enjoy either of the two halo's. Maybe you weren't that crash hot at them! :P

Tend to agree a bit. Halo was probably the best ever first person shooter imo. There was bit too much hype with Halo 2 & it didn't live up to the hype imo. None the less it is still avery good game if you like that kind of genre. Hoffy if you haven't played either one than i suggest that you do. There is no better multiplayer game on the market.

Hmm well it'd want to be something.. i'm a bit of a FPS veteran. Mostly around Quake 2 days but all the doom and quakes prior (just before broadband got popular and my shitty dialup connection coudlnt handle Q3 so i bailed online gaming  ). God i love Q2 *sigh* hehe. A fair bit of console FPS in the form of Timesplitters and the goodl ol' GoldenEye 007 on n64.

So to beat those Halo would really have to be something (and i'm assuiming witha modern touch of "lots of options and features for multiplayers"... some games really suck with that these days.. lack "should be included" features far to often and it really spoils a great sucess). e.g. co-op

Go and play it. Then have a go at multiplayer, you won't be sorry!

heh, funny you say that, i actually was pretty good in them, finished the first halo and was usually top between halo nights with frens, i played it but not because i liked it, mainly because i just wanted to say i finished the game

for story is not original, the graphics even on component are nothing new, and the space/alien environment has been done to death

i even have the game on pc, and still play games such as CS, quake 3, etc. occasionally

but you are right, it depends on what games you like.

Agree with you there.

READ THIS - It may change many peoples minds and anyway who wants to fill Bill Gates already fat money grabbing pockets.

10 reasons why PS3 is better than Xbox 360 - 3 pages

Reason 7 is the dumbest thing I've heard of... of course you can't pre-order the unit in the states - it's already been released!!!

Reason 6 is also stupid as 7 players will almost always be limited to sports games... and keeping track of four players on screen is hard enough on some games!

Reason 4 - the xbox 360 is not only backwards compatible, but will actually enhance all the older generation games (like Halo, providing widescreen and 720p support to the ageing game). Not only that, but they'll be applying Anti-Aliasing to all the games, so all the old games will look better. The PSOne and PS2 games, when played on the PS3, will still look and feel exactly the same, possibly minus the slowdown on the aforementioned consoles (depends if the PS3 emulates the old hardware using a software-based emulator or through hardware compatibility.. the latter is very unlikely though). And it's not like the list is short - http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/9736/Xbox-36...box-Games-List/.

I'll give it to them for Reason 3 - the Japanese love their RPGs and "old school" games.. a bit unfair when Sony own the exclusive rights to pretty all the Japanese games.

Reasons 2 and 10 - they're forgetting one thing... by the time the PS3 comes out, the XBox 360's "killer app" will almost certainly be out - Halo 3. Not only that, but there'll be hundreds of games in Microsoft's library once the PS3 comes out.

the top ten reasons your faithful editors on the IGN PlayStation team think you should wait until next year

George Bush talking about Iraqi WMD's has as much credibility... That "article" reads like it was written by a 14 year old... And it probably was...

Where's the list compiled by IGN's XBox team as to why you should by the Xbox 360 now???

360 has turned the tables on Sony, now they languish behind by 12 months, somthing their superior hardware will not be able to overcome; market saturation, penetration.

Microsoft learnt that the first time around.

That will be true, to a point. All new hardware, always has teething problems. The real amount though, is probably well under <3%, which is to be expected.

Anyway, is anyone seriously contemplating importing 360 from US? If so, how do you propose to get over the 110V-60Hz/ 240V-50Hz prob? Step down transformer? Modify power supply? If it's easy enough, I too will contemplate a US model. Call of Duty 2, Perfect Dark@720p are mouth watering

Remember that if you intend on importing that you buy imported games also. PAL games are modified so that they run at our framrate of 50Hz (or 50fps) instead of the normal 60Hz (60fps). That is why if you play a PAL and NTSC game side-by-side, the NTSC one will be faster.

Quite happy to buy ntsc games. But is it do-able? Without too much messing around?

if importing, wouldn't you just get one from uk instead that way don't need to worry about voltage and framerate and also it would be pal ?

I suoppose with region encoding you'd then need to buy uk region games/dvds/software ?

Not out in Europe yet. Seen them going on ebay for the premium system- hard drive, head set, wireless controller, one game, charger pack for controller, component cable, remote, Au $700-$800 range. over 4000 in continual listings happening. I figure tops, a couple of hundred more than aus retail will be. Not worried about that. Interested for people to post their findings, if they do get ntsc version. ntsc will be cheaper games to buy from US anyway.
