pasey25 Posted July 11, 2006 Author Posted July 11, 2006 It may be flat now but a couple of years of going up and down a couple of times a day will likely change that. It has with my current pull down screen.

Cinamax Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 James, thanks for dropping by the thread. I think that it is critical that the tab tension screens are ripply/wave free since this is the only reason to buy them in this format. I'd expect that there will be a market for a couple of screen material at least. My only other question is on pricing - do you have any indicators on what these will sell for yet? pasey The pricing should be well under $1000 all up delivered, i am working on the price but as we trial different material the price goes up and down, when all said and done they will be much cheaper than the rip off competitors out there!!
pasey25 Posted August 23, 2006 Author Posted August 23, 2006 James has emailed me to say that these tab tension screens are about ready to hit the market. I should have some pricing shortly.

Cinamax Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 Hi Guys, James here from Cinamax, The Tab Tensions are HERE!!! Finally after all the messing about with different materials, we have the Tensions screens available for sale!!! Currently I have 6 x 100" 16:9's in stock (5 in Gloss White and 1 in Matt Black) this is to see how the market reacts to this product and if positive (which i think will happen) we will be landing other sizes in container loads. This model has a IR Reciever on a telephone style plug which can be located anyware, no need to have the control unit in view anymore, these currently don't have the 12v trigger as we have shelved this idea for a current sensing device you plug the projector into, we are finalising the circuitry for this and in the new Cinescreen V5 model will come with that as standard, also future TAB Tensions will have this also, but for now we have the tried and true IR! Not sure how to put pics in here so if anybody can help me do this i would appreciate it! Pricing will be $1599 on e*ay, but for DTV members as thanks for you help in the past $1250 Including freight and GST. Email me through here if interested and also 1300 78 99 74 to find further info.

Foggy Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 James, it's a shame you couldn't get them selling at well under a $1000 like you were hoping. It'd be good to also have some more info about screen material and overall build quality, and some comparison between these and the v4 screen you've been selling to date. It would also be really nice if you offered a 2.37:1 (21:9) AR model

It would also be really nice if you offered a 2.37:1 (21:9) AR model The price has risen from the freight and material extra costs, I am still trying for lower costs, but the key is volume, I had to fight to get these here for this price without the volume. Also - the AR 1.66, 1.77, 2.35, 2.37 and 2.40 AUGH!!! When somebody makes a proper standard it will be happy days!!! I have plans for making some various size ratio screens but there seems to be endless amounts of slightly different ones. If there is enough call for a particular aspect i will make arrangements for a lot of custom ratio screens.
Foggy Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 I feel your pain James. Having already bought one of your v4 16:9 screens, I'm seriously considering having a 2nd 2.37:1 screen just in front of it for when I want to watch a cinemascope movie. WRT to 2.35, 2.37, or 2.40; I believe that most scope movies are actually 2.37:1, so that would probably be the best compromise for me. If you're wanting to gauge interest in the 2.37:1 AR, you can certainly put me on the list of potential purchasers.

I will start a list for people who want 2.37:1 ratio screens i think this is a great next step in Home Theatre to offer a true cinemascope screen. Thank you for this suggestion. Anyone else interested in 2.37:1 screens please message me or post in here.

jamiep Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 looks great. Thanks for posting the pics i agree they look the goods ... also nice to see a 'warts and all' set of pics (ie controller board etc), and not this airbrushed marketing rubbish you get off a web site ... still there is no substitue for seeing it in the flesh. James if you are monitoring this thread ... is it possible if we're close to narre-warren to drop by and view one in action? I'm actually after something smaller than this, but nice to see some pics anyway! Jamie

Cinamax Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Hey james, whats your 1300 number? i just treid to call your mobile and noone picked up :-( I need a copy of your spreadsheet. Sorry i missed your call , you can try again or call 1300 78 99 74, the spreadsheet is currently out of date price wise, i will remake it and post it to the site where pictures are. Hello James,Any plans for a fixed screen? Yes BIG plans for some fixed, i have to place a large order soon before Chrissy hits us, and i will have some on board. What size are you after??
Foggy Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 the spreadsheet is currently out of date price wise, i will remake it and post it to the site where pictures are. James, I wouldn't do that as it will effectively be seen as advertising and may consequently get the entire thread deleted. If people want the spreadsheet they should probably contact you directly via PM or email.
