TommyGNR Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 From what I understand the optics are the same as the Ruby, hence all throw distances etc are the same as the ruby(VW100) I'm going to visit Trevor Lees Audio after work tomorrow and see if they have a demo unit. I do know that trevor was advertising for preorders for delivery this week. I'll have an update tomorrow with whatever I find out.

TommyGNR Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 I spoke to Trevor Lees today. He has ordered 4 VW50s for delivery on October 18 from Sony. He expects to sell them for around $7000. He plans to have a demo unit setup soon after he takes delivery. He has my phone number and will call me when the projector arrives. As an aside it was a pleasure to speak to him, he's a straight talking highly knowledgable guy.

zorg1503559539 Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 interesting price Japan are showing a price to Australia of $6,375 so will be interesting to see what the street price is.
Jliang70 Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 interesting price Japan are showing a price to Australia of $6,375 so will be interesting to see what the street price is. That is about 10% lower than the price of $7000 Trevor told me, I hope the price will drop when new LCD 1080P projectors like Mits HC5000 or Pana 1000 are released. Looking at the price in US VW50 is available at US$36** about AU$5000.

adumicic Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 (edited) Just saw it at TAV, and I have to say, WOW!!! If things are going to get better than this then we are all truly blessed! Time to talk to the financial controller me thinks. By the way, they are charging around $7500 Edited October 25, 2006 by adumicic
The_Preacher1973 Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 Come on preach, buy another crt, not this digicrapp Remember your roots man Funny you mention that.. I had the tape measure out the other day measuring up the lounge in our jungle abode. My wife no stranger to such antics was onto me straight away. "We're only over here for a couple of years, you've already got a projector back in Australia, we don;t need another one." She didn't find my argument "yeah, but this PJ will be digital so it'll be stuffed in a couple of years by the time we go home" very persuasive!
ccsa Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 ... By the way, they are charging around $7500 Wow, compare with Preacher's $6600, this is a whopping $900 difference!!! I checked with a supplier in Sydney. There is no stock yet. But the price should be well below $7000. Patience is required now.

I have checked with a seller in QLD and his price is $6600 but there won't be any stock until early Nov. and I am going to wait until Dec ( nice Xmas pressi) when the price has settled down a bit.
