*Sung to the tune of "Happy Birthday to you"

I was daydreaming at work (but not about HT for a change) thinking about this one. What other tune would you sing it to?

But then I recalled something from my teenage years. Have you ever been to one of those American Steakhouse / Saloon style restaurants, and seen what they do for someone having a birthday? Yep, all the young waiter / waitress things with their big smiles line up for a good ol' fashioned "Happy Birthday".

But it's not like any singing of Happy Birthday I've ever heard. More like a Billy Ray Cyrus line-dancing version.

Funny. I don't recall having eaten there for a while...

I'm led to believe that Hooters may do something like this  ???

Lonestar did this. That was the chain that Tony Lockett was involved it. The one in Perth has closed.
I suspect it actually was............

Happy Birthday to you,

Happy Birthday to you,

Happy Birthday dear 64kym,

Happy Birthday to you. *

Yes, happy birthday 64kym.

Do you guys live near each other?

Likewise the one in Adelaide.

I was in Brisbane not too long ago and found they had Sizzlers there. The Adelaide ones are also long gone....

And (a couple of years ago) there was on on the Gold Coast.........

I think I tried this (different song or something) in one of my celebratory posts at some stage.

Have you heard some of the European versions! :D:P

Make Happy Birthday sound classy!

{Incorrect version, just going from memory:

Who's a little weiner-boy, hey-ra, hey-ra?

Birthday creeps up like a mouse, hey-ra, ho-hee!

You are bigger every year,

Dust the sill with golden tears!

Who's a little weiner-boy, hey-ra, hey-ra!

...or some such! :P

edit:

It appears the Danish version is:

Today it's Phil Invablank's birthday!

Hurra, hurra, hurra!

He'll certainly receive a gift

that he's wanted in the year

with wonderful chocolate and cake, too!

We still have Sizzler in Perth but only 2 or 3 I think. I like the Ribs.

They have "Tony Romas" in Sydney.......Now if you like Ribs !!

For our Melbourne friends, probably the best steak-house on the Eastern coast, Squires Loft in the city. In Brisbane, The Pineapple Hotel, just over the Story Bridge...........

Also in Sydney, Kingsley Steakhouse (King St is far better than Darling Harbour, but even so, it can still be variable......)

Lonestar did this ...

Yep, that would be the one. Since we're naming names, I reckon Hog's Breath Cafe would probably pull the same stunt, given their propensity to display vehicle licence plates around the interior of their "cough" steak and rib houses...

Austen, there's a place on Parramatta Rd in Stanmore, between Bridge Rd and Johnston St (that narrows it down a bit - could have been quite a walk otherwise...). It's an Argentinian Steakhouse. Apparently they pride themselves on having the best steaks (and the rudest service) in Sydney. Never did try them when I lived around the corner in Camperdown though. Put it down to a snooty nosed ex with vegetarian tendencies. Not sure if it would have been the food or the service that got me in more trouble...

:blink::D:P

Haven't been to Hogs Breath for......umm......two days now !!

On Tuesday night, walking around a cold and wet Canberra all the local pubs were 120% full with " 'Cup Party-Goers".

Only place we could get into was the local Hogs Breath, almost deserted (possibly 'cos it was 50m off the beaten track and underground).

Had their signature rib, and while the BBQ sauce supplied most of the flavour, I have to say it was one of the actual tenderest steaks I've had. But no line-dancing :P !!!

Several years ago I enjoyed some great steaks at the Breakfast Creek hotel in Brisbane. Is that still going?

I've not been there, but many people I work with have, and they all speak highly of it.

Just before you enter the 'Valley  ...........

(Or so I'm told  )

BTW: Mel, if its still there, the Breakfast Creek Warf restaurant did a pretty good line in seafood meals ... good enough for this Santa to make an exception! :P

Without going anywhere near the Howard / Abbott flip-flopping on whether or not to supply Gardasil and also without going anywhere near the fact CSL was floated by a Labor government...............

//Rant Starts

If there was ever proof that major infrastructure and natural monopolies should be run by the government, can there ever be any clearer proof than this ................

S.M.H Link

Under the manufacturer CSL's first proposal, Gardasil would be made free to all females aged 12 to 26 at a cost of $625 million over four years.

The prime minister yesterday said Gardasil would be made available as soon as CSL offered the right price, but he went further today, saying he was pushing to have it included on the immunisation program in mid-2007.

The CSL was floated in 1994 for $2.30 / Share. It closed today (10 Nov 2006) at $57.62  !!

If it had increased in value 10 times over the 12 year period that would of indicated that it was criminally under-priced when floated, but a 25-fold price increase can never be forgiven :D !!!

A while ago I was talking to a former E.T.S.A (Electricity Trust of South Australia) worker. He was telling me that in the good old days ETSA dug the coal, shipped it to the power stations, burnt it and turned it into electricity, stuck the resultant electricity on (our uniquely South Australian) Stobie poles, brought it to your home and sold it to you.

Now there are 12 private companies between the coal mine and my power-point, each and every one of them making a profit for their share-holders. Tell me again why electricity is so dear :P

Way before my time there Santa. I am a heavyweight (although a bit of dieting has helped recently) but definitely not a Labor supporter, unlike a lot of red-raggers on this Forum. (insert joking, sarcasm, good-natured, not meant to offend, just in case).

The only people apparent to me at the Brekky Creek were a lot of people chowing down on a lot of dead cows while washing it down with copious quantities of beer.

I was there in 1996 for 10 months and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I look at Brisbane as a place almost as nice as Perth.

You know what ... I had kinda guessed you weren't a pinko, leftie, commie...

I was going to venture that its probably a hell of a lot more yuppified since the "good ol' days" ... well, just look at QLD Labor these days! :P

Dunno if the seafood place is anything like it used to be (few places are 20 years on!), but if it is, its worth a go ... used to make for a very pleasant evening sitting out over the warf, eating pretty fine seafood!

WRT Brisbane as nice as Perth ... that might be an insult to Brisbane, these days! :D {Disclaimer ... haven't been there since quite a while pre-1996, but Perth's not so hot!}
