Super Mustud Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 In another thread JohnA posted about a headphone stand that he had seen on the web, the Sieveking Headphone Stand. As it turns out, I had purchased 2 of these stands from a vendor in Holland. In fact, from here http://www.tweaks4u.com. This was the cheapest place I found for them. Thought I would post some pics of where one of the stands is sitting at present. I only put it there temporarily at first, however I am quite taken at how the stand is almost a perfect fit for one of the transformers on my amp, so I think I will leave it there. For those interested, the pics also show my main system. The other stand is in our other place. Pics maybe later.
firefly0071 Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 I wanted to get these headphone stands but I could not find an English website. I ended up purchasing Woo headphone stand.
Super Mustud Posted December 8, 2009 Author Posted December 8, 2009 I wanted to get these headphone stands but I could not find an English website.I ended up purchasing Woo headphone stand. There is a site in the U.S. that has them, however for a fair bit more than the Dutch site. The Dutch site has an English language option. The only thing that gave me cause to consider is that they did not take Paypal, only international bank transfer, however this is so easy these days to do online through any Aussie bank once you know the Swift bank details it is as convenient as any local transfer. They were also good to deal with, quick emails, tracked postage, and they followed up later with an email on satisfaction. And that is more than enough advertising! Its just that it gives pleasure to pass on a good purchasing experience.
Guest JohnA Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 looks great mate. how long did it take to arrive?
Super Mustud Posted December 8, 2009 Author Posted December 8, 2009 looks great mate.how long did it take to arrive? Can't remember exactly John, say within a fortnight. Tracked postage always gives confidence, though, as you can always check online where it is.
nickonsound Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 (edited) Cool stand. I just wish IKEA sells them Edited January 29, 2010 by nickonsound
warnsey1 Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Your room looks fantastic, very neat and tidy system.
Bus_Boy Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Nice looking stand.I've been looking for ages for a good stand, i came across the same one, also the one's from Woo Audio, but in the end i bought the HH10 from Sennheiser.Originaly i didnt like it, but it's grown on me a lot now:party
Super Mustud Posted January 30, 2010 Author Posted January 30, 2010 Your room looks fantastic, very neat and tidy system. Thanks Warnsey. Would have been better without the tuntable on the floor at the left and the cables a little neater. With cables, however, I get a somewhat perverse pleasure at the cables being a bit in your face. Sort of like a badge of honour. Mrs Mustud has learnt to put up with it .
danter Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Just use your head.
Super Mustud Posted January 30, 2010 Author Posted January 30, 2010 Just use your head. Nup, that's what everybody uses. I wanted something else.
markm1111 Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 Just use your head. Danter Do you find those glass heads stretch the headphones much? The beauty of Mustud's stand seems to me to be the lack of stress on the phones, it is one of teh most ergonomic stands I have ever seen - the problem is the stress on the wallet! Anyone capable of designing something similar without the associated $200 price tag?
stereo.net Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 Found this post from Head-Fi.org... Headphone stand sourced from IKEA products..
soundfan Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 Having just purchased my first Headphone Amp and pair of headphones, I now am on the lookout for a commercially available headphone stand, and at this early stage, don't want to spend more than $50 to $70 for one. I haven't the tools or inclination at the moment to make my own. Can anyone provide any links for sites here or offshore that may make my search a little easier? Chris
firefly0071 Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 When I was looking for a headphone stand, I could not find anything in Australia. hence I purchsed through Woo Audio. It's ok. I also purchased, via Ebay, Sennheiser clamp hadphone stands for about $50. Benny

Mr Headphone Stand bears an uncanny family resemblance to the lady in the painting on the wall. cheers 2sheds
soundfan Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 This is my stand I purchased for the short term. $30 on ebay. She's cute don't you think? And she'll never tell me to turn it down, or argue with me.Qualities I demand in a good woman. Chris
Super Mustud Posted March 29, 2010 Author Posted March 29, 2010 There is indeed a suggestion of appealing whimsy in the cocking of her head, Chris, however my experience with the female sex tells me that the raised eyebrow connotes no good for you. Get rid of her while you can. You have been warned!

You have been warned! LOL. She should arrive tomorrow or the next day, will see how she looks wearing my headphones. And I can always find a pair of sunnies for her.
soundfan Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 Heres a pic of my temporary stand until I find something I like better.
markm1111 Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 Don't know about the headphone stand, but I want that Talisman! Anyway, anyone after the Sennheiser clamp stand they can be bought as a spare part from the service department of Syntec International at Chatswood in Sydney. http://service.syntec.com.au/product_info.php?cPath=1955&products_id=80997
