kunalraiker Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Just to add another alternative, there is a guy on ebay in the UK who sells really nice stands that are patterned after the Stax stand. I've bought one and couldn't be happier. Including shipping to Australia it was about $50. His ebay identity is "paleafternoon" I knew about these one long time back, but wanted something more trademarked, rather then a stand that looks like it was made by your carpentar.
firefly0071 Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 I finally got them: http://i-enjoy.com.au/ProductDetails.aspx?ID=48Although it might seems that I have the same price as overseas, keep in mind that mine is FREE shipping and I have to pay GST. Buying online and overseas has led me to lose hundred and hundreds of dollars (well circa $500) and hence would buy via the official distributor in Australia to minimise risk.

For what it's worth I have seen the Sieveking headphone stands in the flesh and IMHO the Stax copy stands from the UK are both more attractive and better made. Personally I prefer a unique handmade hardwood item to a piece of steam shaped plywood, but it is entirely a matter of taste and I'm sure many would have the opposite opinion. The Sieveking are funky, the Stax copy is understated.
MultiplexMan Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 I bought killzone 3 special edition just for the head. Great headphone stand! Oh the outrage! A Helghast soldier with headphones over his helmet? Not on my watch! :nana

I didn't mean to come out as opposing your purchase, just felt that expensive headphones should be treated like jewellery,By the way were you fortunate enough to see the Zebrano one, that one particularly stands out. I have never admired any audio gear as much as I have the stands, that includes my dear Leben CS300X.

Stump Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 I knew about these one long time back, but wanted something more trademarked, rather then a stand that looks like it was made by your carpentar. Do Stax use Chinese Carpenters??
kunalraiker Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 Do Stax use Chinese Carpenters?? Don't know, but you could always ask them
