Well, taking the piss or not...the Kuro is still able to sell. Last week there were 3 availble and sold in 2 days. The one available at $2799 is now gone.

I'm only posting the prices here as a DTV community service, what people do with that information is totaly up to them.

J.

ps I have no financial interest in the above products.

Mate my comments were not directed at you in any way.

Hi All

New to the forum so sorry if this is in the wrong thread. need some help.

Clive Peters here in Hobart has gone belly up and i thought time to look at a new tv.

They have an LG 55LH95QD Led/LCD for $3k and i can't find any review on this product anywhere. I think it is now the old model but price seems good. Avatar was on it and the pic looked pretty darn good. Anyone give me any info would br much appreciated. Cheers

It's not a bad TV but you can haggle the current generation Samsung 55" C6900 to around that amount quite easily.

Anybody got a price range for the LG 32LE5510?

My mum is looking at this TV for my Nan, so they're after a price to offer on it.

Anybody got any comment on this set? Is it worth the asking price?

Thanks in advance!

This had 200hz , anti reflective screen and wireless box....5 million contrast ratio ( if figures mean anything )

Good tv if in brighter room but wireless box was sometimes a bit fidly...make sure you dont have a thick wood cabinet cause sometimes the box and tv struggled to connect...

The last clearance price we were offered for the tv was $3000 so if they want to sell you could probably get another $100 or so off

Many places try Myer, the Sony was about $2160 when released a few months back.

It is a CCFL LCD, why would you want the problems of crappy edge lit LED panels or a second rate LED back lit panel?

The only LED LCD's worth having are back lit with local dimming. Sony have one coming, Samsung has none and LG make a reasonable one.

hey folks.

looking for something for the old man... around the $1k mark, give or take, 46-50".

any recommendations?

I'm looking at a similar budget and the Samsung PS50C451B2D 50" plasma advertised online at Good Guys for $1099 seems good value!

thanks digger! perhaps hoping for full HD, but don't know if I should bother. my dad won't be able to tell the difference, but it would be nice.

Full HD doesn't really matter but you could easily negotiate the Sammy 50" C550 down to the $1300 mark

The Samsung 50" C450 is ticketed at $1099 so the street price will be a lot lower. Maybe in the $900's.

Unless the viewing distance is close enough 1080 is a waste. Anything over 2.5 meters on a 50" dont bother with "Full HD".

Panasonic "U" series in 42" would be the best TV for Full HD for around the $1000 mark or for HD only Panasonic THP50X20A.

Completely disagree with this one. Full HD panels have much less noise, a smoother picture and better colour. The only person who can really decide if it looks better though is you by going in and watching the TV signal on a full hd and a hd panel and comparing.

this is more my concern. its not so much the difference in resolution, but more that some form interpolation+fitlering is going to be required where the display isn't full HD.

Myer have the previous Samsung 6 series 63 inch plasma marked to $2995 on clearance. I am waiting on a new 7 series, but depending on how far under $3k Myer will go, getting a big TV cheap without waiting may have some appeal.
