Wing Nut Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 Harmony One - $99 @ wireless1 I think you have to buy a 'notebook' to get the Harmony for $99 - without, it jumps to $199. Pretty sure the 'notebook' isn't just a cheap item of stationery either
loki65 Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 philips pronto tsu9400, not cheap but runs IR and RF
h3athen Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 (edited) www.uremote.com.au They came out and setup all of my remotes in my home theatre including my air conditioning on all of my iphones and my ipad. Absolutely love it. Not cheap but so worth it. Edited May 3, 2011 by h3athen
avgeek Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 Thanks djOS. I bought my mx850 from Doug so probably have to buy the new remote from him again. Has anyone tried the new push control system ? It works on your iPad iPhone ect and has the same feel as a Philips Pronto

blybo Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 Also, how would one go about with this RF to IR devices?Say i buy the 1100i, and have 5 components in my cabinet/rack which are behind a glass door. This RF emitter/extender would have to be in front of all my components in sight of the IR ports of the components to be able to send signals? Or would i have to get 5 emitters and place each one in front of my components IR port? I have no place to put anything in front of my components, so was wondering how these work then if they still need a signal from the RF emitter If you look at the photo here link in my sig you will see a cupboard I successfully used a Logitech 895 and recently upgraded to a 900 which is great except for a updating glitch with Mac Os X . The 900 uses a wide beam emitter and also packs 2 (IIRC) spare emitters for a separate shelf. As long as you have about 5cm between the front of your component and the edge of the shelf you should be right. Glass reflects well
Guest libretto Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Has anybody tried the FLPr for iphone? Is it any good? And will it work with a Topfield PVR7100+? - I've tried universal remotes before but they don't work with the Toppy. thanks
Ultrasmart Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 Haven't tried the FLPR so can't comment. But FYI, MWave.com.au have them discounted to $29.99 atm. Also free shipping today. (Have ordered 1 to play with myself).

Inego1503560167 Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 Rather than open another thread, I thought I'd post here..... My Harmony 785 is no its last legs after about 5 years - buttons getting cranky and some lettering wearing off. I've been checking the Logitech site and there doesn't appear to be a straight replacement in the current catalogue, or is the Harmony One it? Any thoughts? Cheers Kent
diesel Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 There's no like for like replacement. The closest maybe the Harmony 700 in the new range, but it does limit you to 6 devices (IIRC). The Harmony One would be the other option, but I prefer to have dedicated coloured buttons, instead of the soft keys.
Inego1503560167 Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Cheers Mick -checking the 785 could possibly live with the 6 devices, as I never use the VCR or CD player (neither even plugged in these days). Will keep looking into it, but losing those extended capabilities of the 785 seems to be pretty stupid on Logitech's part, as not all of us see the "advantages" of the current higher models....
kwarrior Posted November 1, 2012 Author Posted November 1, 2012 Hi All...been a while Has been 2 and a bit years with my URC MX900.....and now, the damn remote has certain buttons that just do not respond unless you really go hard at it!! It has obviously seen some heavy use over these past few years....but even so, I thought the remote would stand up to that sort of heavy usage...it doesnt, does it? Not having trawled on here for a while...is there another remote that is worth looking at? Any ideas, thoughts...or just somebody wanting to say "HI"!! (nice to be able to come back on here and still "see" some very familiar faces!!)

(nice to be able to come back on here and still "see" some very familiar faces!!) Hi Mate....... 1word Logitech..... Like we all see only bad comments are posted about products-if it works you are too busy enjoying it to tell anyone! Currently in my home we have a 525 in the lounge room-it is 5yrs old, has survived 1 house move, 2 toddlers and many impact tests off the arm of the lounge-the volume buttons need to be pressed a bit harder than the others to get them to work, overall I can't say a bad word. In the rumpus is another 525-you can imagine what the poor thing has been through and it still happily does everything thats asked of it. 3 650's one in the master, sons and eldest daughters bedrooms-for $30 I challenge anyone to find another remote that offers what this little gem does for the price...... Beyond what I have in my home I have supplied and set-up many over the last 5-6yrs, the service calls on these have turned into upgrades when a new or replacement component requires the remote to have something removed, added and a new activity to be added...... Logitech shop still have the 650(replaces 5 remotes) for $30 or the 700(replaces 6 remotes) for $50......take the pepsi challenge!
kwarrior Posted November 2, 2012 Author Posted November 2, 2012 How do I get to my old friend "Doug"? Anybody ? I bought my MX900 from him...but it is giving up on me... Hi to all my old friends...Yorac, dJOS, D-Train, ...and everybody...so nice to be back on here after almost a year!! And I still have the old wife....honestly, she doesnt give a toss what remote I use or get her to use...she just asks me to point her to the on/off button...which on the MX900...after some serious programming...is very difficult!!
steve hutch Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 Two things a remote should have in my view, 1. RF or WiFi. Now you can hide all your gear in a cabinet or a rack and not have to look at it, plus it keeps young fingers away. 2. A touch screen for all the fiddly functions that don't have a hard button, like PVR controls etc. Remotes like URC, RTI and the RF Harmony, the 900 I think, all work well and some of iPad apps are good too but the lack of hard buttons for volume and channel can be a bit painful. Just my two cents from having programmed and installed several hundred remotes over the years.
kwarrior Posted November 27, 2012 Author Posted November 27, 2012 Hi...please excuse my intermittent appearance on here.... I know the general look and feel of this site has changed much...and had changed over a year or more ago...but I just cant seem to get a handle on it.... I was hoping, without incurring the wrath of anybody on here...if anybody has successfully programmed their Foxtel IQ Remote on the MX900? My MX900 still is a bit troublesome with some buttons....but it is such an easy remote to programme and use...I am loath to give it away.... Anybody? (I am new to Foxtel....<shock>)

I am also the owner of a five year old 525 (controlling 5 devices) used everyday, still working but recently replaced with a 650 at a third of the cost, and feels a lot better. Software could be more user friendly, but the Harmony has served me well and I continue to recommend it.

bpratt Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Did anyone see this come up recently about Logitech dropping their remotes ? http://www.channelnews.com.au/Accessories/Industry/G7X4M5G7 And this one other news on Logitech :- http://www.channelnews.com.au/Networking_And_Wireless/Industry/V9V7J3C5
Guest Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Yes, it is a bit disconcerting. Hoping that whoever buys the Harmony arm will continue to support and improve it. Logitech was good when it acquired the company but has done little in the past few years.
kingsley1972 Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 Hi guys I have been floating around this forum for a little while now it's given some great tips. I too am looking for a remote that just will do it. So far I play with 4 remotes. I have just found the L5 ir adaptor for iPhone, ipad, iPod touch and well it's making me go back to my 4 remotes I once had a harmony one but just read the article about logitech and I now wonder do I not buy one and see what happens?
