ooooooohhhhhh very nice... I love that red colour.

How does it drive though? want to take it to Chum Creek Rd? :P

That's blody nice! The seats look really good too, nice colour. Just my type of car. Love that steering wheel too, looks like that has come straight out of the Audi's.

Hmmm, I so wish I got the Detroits now. Those wheels look so much better than my Denver's. Well at least I have the same colour. Looks good doesn't it.

thank you gentlemen.

Lam, it handles very well i must say. Took it for a good spin today but didn't push it too much. Want to get use to it a little more and what it is and isn't capable off.

Initial impressions though are very good indeed.

Stirlo, yes the audi and vw share the same platform and many parts. I prefer the lower cost of the VW though :P

Obiwan, originally i was not going to go with the 18's. Thought i'd get aftermarket ones down the track, however am now glad i did get them. Was also chance as the car they had in stock just happened to have the 18's After a deal was worked out, who was i to say i didn't want them :nana

Yeah sorry, i realise the Audi/VW share many parts and I can certainly understand why you would buy the VW. I was more meaning that Audi have had them for years and it looks as thought that has filtered into the VW. Basically, I have been slack in keeping up with evolution, chances are that VW have been using the flat steering wheel for years and I just didn't notice. :P

Hi John

Nice looking car :nana ,I still don't know what VW were thinking when they designed that number plate holder :P.

I have figuered out how to fix it with out filling holes in the bumper .

Cheers

Everyone loves a hot hatch. My wife has the poor mans version, an SRI Astra, still don't mind taking the thing for nice spin. (Flogging):P

Your car looks great John.

thanks again guys.

56, as i mentioned, i am not fussed about the number plate holder, i will eventually get euro plates for it. I know its not your thing, but it was always my plan if i got this car.

Great looking car John! I bet it's a fun drive. Starting to look for a different car myself, but with 2 kids, I'll need a bit more room than what the sporty Golf offers.

Enjoy.

Very nice ride John. The question that has been on my mind since you announced the purchase is..... does it come with matching red leather driving gloves?

Enjoy,

YS

Hi Phil

Can you salary sacrifice at your work and get corp discount .Springvale Barloworld have 5 R36's on the lot there could be a deal there .I got a price on a125D Passat sedan deck out with the same options as my GTi and on the road it was just under $ 48K the wagon was going to be @ $2K more .

Nice idea John. A fella at work has one of these in black and it does look sensational. Oozes class. Still a little small for us though with the double pram still in use, but would love to have one. I've been advised that when the prams are done with, the kids bikes take their place:(

Hi Mal, yep I can lease through work and do get a bit of a discount from the likes of Ford & Holden etc. Not sure which way I'll go but currently thinking of a used Landrover Discovery 3 SE or HSE. Kind of the total opposite to John's red rocket:D. I only need to wait a week and my eye will be caught by something else though.

JohnA's story has made me so jealous I went online this morning and bought two additional tickets (I had already bought one) in the Qld Guide Dogs Art Union for a BMW 125i Sport Coupe valued at $75,000. When I win this I will talke the cash and buy the VW.

Don't bother buying a ticket because I have won this prize!
