pgdownload Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 I hope you haven't purchased HNP yet as I am sure you will get it for nix soon.Actually I also bought 4 of them at the $5 offer. Figured I could sell them or use them one day Basically in the US the lifetime EPG option proved to be financially unsustainable (Almost bankrupted Tivo). Not sure how it works here, but as Freeview have apparently said they'll provide EPG data free to any PVR maker that is Freeview compliant then can't see it costing Tivo anything to provide an unlimited EPG. David Williams Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 OK - TiVo just mailed out a token for the HNP.
Baci Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 OK - TiVo just mailed out a token for the HNP. Me too - except it doesn't work! They sent me a second token which gets further than the first, but still doesn't activate the product. So close and yet so far....

(I already have HNP active so I haven't tried) I also got sent the amended token.. Hi David Got the HNP as part of a promotion. A notification email from TiVo came last night with the first 32 character token. When entering that the activation process didn't get past the first screen instead returning a "general error". About 4 hours later a second email from TiVo arrived stating: "Due to a glitch in the system, the last Home Networking Package token you were sent is invalid. We apologise for the error, and for any confusion this may have caused. Your new Home Networking Package token is XXXXXXX" Now when I get to the second of the three activation screens, I get an error message stating, "A general error has occurred, please try again later." A little frustrating!

Stux Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 That would be frustrating for sure. Perhaps try the TiVo threads on Whirlpool? So, I think the MYSECONDTIVO code isn't working anymore, and TiVo seem to have a new promo " Purchase a TiVo® between May 28th and July 31st, open a CASPA™ wallet and score a bonus 1TB Expander Drive if you follow these instructions " which sounds like a great deal (220-250$ value?) I would like to beat up jb/myer/goodguys and harveys to see what I can get on the TiVo320 + WiFi and then apply for the 1TB Expander What is the best price people have been able to get from retailers? Thanks in advance
ozpanda Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 What is the best price people have been able to get from retailers? I just got a 160GB TiVo from Myer for $395. With the added 1TB hard drive for free ($10 postage) it seems like a good deal!

Thanks in advance I just ordered the 'TiVo Wireless Adaptor Bundle and Home Networking Package' using the 'MYSECONDTIVO' code and it did bring the total down to $524 delivered. Are you sure you're adding the bundle itself in the outright screen or just the Tivo itself? Edited June 30, 2010 by esVee

Its a good deal but I want the 1TB Exentder with it and you can get it with this deal I have tried to see if Good Guys would price match the $499 and they told me they dont sell Tivo
ozpanda Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 (edited) Can you post a receipt? Turns out Dick Smith have some 160GB models left too. The store sign said $447 for the repack 160gb TiVo bundle (which I have since been told means refurbished or returned? but with no mention of non standard warranty). So I swapped my Myer unit for the Dick Smith bundle for $395 as it also came with a $50 CASPA voucher. Silly me forgot to copy the Myer receipt before returning the unit! I do have the Dick Smith receipt though if anyone wants it. Put my claim in for the free 1TB hard drive last night. Hopefully they will have another HNP $5 license for charity again soon for those who want HNP for (almost) free. Edited July 2, 2010 by ozpanda

I do have the Dick Smith receipt though if anyone wants it. I don't get it. So you returned your brand new Myer unit which you bought for $395, then bought a repack (refurb) unit from Dick Smith and paid $447? Unless the bundle costs a lot more, I would rather keep the brand new Myer unit anytime. Apart from being 2nd hand, lack of warranty is also a major deterrent.
wolf Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 purchased 320gb Tivo from Myer for $580 got the free WD hard drive. If I wanted could dell that for ~$200 which would make the unit $380!!!
k3nnis888 Posted July 10, 2010 Posted July 10, 2010 Did you price match anyone to get it at that price from myer or myer are selling it for that price? purchased 320gb Tivo from Myer for $580got the free WD hard drive. If I wanted could dell that for ~$200 which would make the unit $380!!!
k3nnis888 Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 Hi Guys, I bit the bullet and bought the TIVO 320GB at MYER today for $580. Hopefully this is a good price? I guess I can claim the 1TB WD drive online? Cheers, K.

She just laybyed (sp?) it and I've told her she has to buy before the end of the month. Dick Smith didn't know about it. It wasn't on display but the DSE website said they had stock. They said the web was notoriously inaccurate, and tried to show me the refurb/broken box section. It wasn't until I found the model number (GH5719) that they found they had 9 out the back. http://www.dse.com.au/cgi-bin/dse.storefro...uct/View/GH5719 That's $447 for a 160GB TiVo (while in stock), $50 of CASPA credit, and a free 1TB expander disk (till the end of July). Can't get much better than that. (oh, and I bought a $5 HNP license last year, time to redeem/connect it....) Edited July 16, 2010 by GregA
k3nnis888 Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Hi All, What is a good price for a TIVO 320GB nowadays?
pgdownload Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Hi All,What is a good price for a TIVO 320GB nowadays? This thread has been quiet a fair while. Well Tivo online has them for $500. eBay has a couple second hand $300-$400 (Seems people like pickup only but its less than $30 to send a PVR via registered post Oz wide - no harm asking). Dick Smith has them for $450 . Other than that its a bit of try your luck walking into some elec discount stores and asking for a best price IMO. Some might be wanting to get rid of a spare unit for $300 but I wouldn't be surprised if $400 was about the price you pay (Keep in mind the Tivo comes with an acurate series record free that costs $50-$100 a year otherwise). Be interested if any other readers have actual recent pricing. Regards Peter Gillespie
k3nnis888 Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Thanks for your reply. Yeah would be interested on others commenting if they have purchased one recently...I was planning to replace the HD in it to either 1TB or 2TB as well...
