Yes the TiVo has HDMI, Component, S-Video, & Composite.

Any more questions can be posted in the Main TiVo Thread, this thread is mainly used for pricing.

Also you can find more details about TiVo directly at www.tivo.com.au

Hi Guy's,

I got one bundled with the WiFi adapter last night at JB HiFi in Adelaide for $620 after a little negotiation. Quite happy with that deal considering the sticker price of about $760 for both. Also tried the 'Good Guys' for a price comparison, not even close.

I didn't need to show a receipt, I just suggested that deals in the Eastern states seemed to be much better than sticker price and the sales guy tapped away on his PDA and came up with that figure. Straight shooting kind of guy too, nice to deal with...

Martin

PS. Thanks Krudd !

Just tried JB at Capalaba at $545, the saleperson went away for some time before coming back with no. His best offer was $590 unless I can produce a receipt. Anybody able to help out with that?

Cheers

Since I bought the Tivo above, I've been damn impressed by it. It's a very nicely tuned bit of hardware. Everything it say's it's going to do actually seems to happen. My PC illiterate wife (and kids) can record programs just fine without reading the manual, and the web based Yahoo7 record programing is so easy it's stupid. Unfortunately too easy really.... Now we have every episode of 'Cops' being recorded on a Season Pass :-(

PS. If you are in Adelaide talk to Steve at JB on Smart Rd at Modbury about a decent price for a bundle. I can't see why anyone needs a copy of a receipt, I didn't.

Just picked mine up today with the help of the above mentioned receipt. The JB sales guy was very good to deal with but he wished he didn't knock me back at $545 two days ago. I ended up getting it a lot cheaper than that. The big question, what are the chances of the HNP going on sale again? At the moment $199 is the only price available, a little steep considering I am a Mac user and have to purchase extra software on top of that as well. I already have Toast 9 but it mentions I need Toast 10, can anyone confirm Toast 9 working with the Aussie Tivo? Big thanks to this forum and the wonderfully helpful members to date, I have read a mountain of info before settling on the Tivo.

Any chance of a PM'd receipt on this 1TB external drive?

I've included that price in my spreadsheet for PVR comparisons (with dual HD tuners) that I used to decide what PVR to buy:

Hi Supercheap,

on your spreadsheet under the Tivo "Simultaneous Output -eg. via both HD HDMI and SD AV outputs"

I have hooked up the audio left and right and Svideo to my Pioneer DVD recorder input and can record what is playing live or recorded on the Tivo, as well as watch on the Panasonic via HDMI. So you can put a Yes in cell C45

I understand that not everyone will agree with what I think!

C5 Current Model number is TCD663160

C9 Yes, but require both drives to be connected to a PC first

C10 Yes, but only for a week at a time due to the EPG running out. (Movies comments are probably best left for your comments section, also movies may be deleted after 14 days (to make space))

C16 Yes (with HNP), * Windows Media Video (.wmv) * QuickTime Movie (.mov) * MPEG-4/H.264 (.mp4, .m4v, .mp4v) * MPEG-2 (.mpg, .mpeg, .mpe, .mp2, .mp2v, .mpv2) * DivX and Xvid (.avi, .divx) & others with 3rd party apps.

C17 Yes (with HNP), MP3

C18 Yes (with HNP), JPG

C20 Yes (with HNP), can connect to a PC or Mac

C23 Unlimited

C27-29 Only with HNP and 3rd party software.

C30 Not available on unhacked TiVo HD's (even in the US)

C31 Yes, used for connection to PC's, TiVo, Blockbuster etc.

C33 Yes

C35 No, but Guide can be overlaid

C43 No

C44 Yes

C45 Yes

C48 not sure what you mean by "Yes - starts recording again when power resumes if outage is less than 2 hours", the TiVo will start recording once it has rebooted after power has been restored. Even if it is in the middle of a program it will still record what is left. It does not matter how long the outage is, I don't know where the 2 hour outage cam from? The only time it would be an issue is if the outage lasted more than 7 days as the EPG would be expired, and recordings would only resume after it has called home for the EPG and then scheduled the new shows.

C49 Fan is variable speed, it never stops, but very quiet even at high speeds.

C51 Very good at upscaling, has many other inbuilt applications with more to come.

Peter.
