75 pounds makes it about A$170. A bit more than US$100 (A$130).
That's ok.

Just the Singapore bit that has me wanting to be careful.

Yours is a Singapore import then I guess? I'm about to pull the pin on a 4308/3808 from KEC.

It would seem the firmware for Asia Pac receivers is the probably the same as European receivers. I would guess the procedure is the same for a Singapore import... When I talk to KEC (maybe today) I'll ask.

Yes bought off a well respected forum member who did the updates to date with no issues.

I'm just a bit more conservative.

Especially after the norpus experience.

APG says to register at the Denon.co.uk site.

I've done that, but haven't received an email reply as yet.

When you register, it asks what country you are in. It might be the portal for all of Europe(and us Aussies!)

Darren

It would be much more comforting if Denon updates could be done via PC to USB, i might try doing a search for this type of solution and who knows i may find a free copy of the Latest update for dynamic volume ..... wishful thinking......

EDIT: just had a bit of a search and USB downloads are a no go, but i came across this site

http://www.hometheaterspot.com/fusionbb/sh.../post/last/m/1/

with those who have got the new update and seem very pleased with the new dynamic EQ and volume despite the usual update issues..

I was told Denon wont allow there firmware to be downloaded on there site. But its definitley something we all want. there firmware update are not exactly the best. Sometimes it can mess things up.

I just ran an update check with the 3808 and it says there is an update available(75min estimate)..........I thought I was already up to date since I updated about 2 months ago.

Has there been another update, apart from this Audyssey one, since?

cheers

To be honest we should all get it for free. The Americans did.

Yes, came out in the last week or so. I updated mine last Sunday and 75 mins is about the mark. Once finished though, when you go to feature update section there are downloads ready to go (once paid for). Now just need to know how to pay for them.

Here's how it looks:

USA owners:

AVP & 5808 - free

All others purchased on or after 1/9/08 - free

All others purchased on or before 31/8/08 - US$100

UK & AU owners:

According to the UK website........All owners - UK$75(AU$170)

One of the us guys baught his at 6pm 31/9/08.............as you could imagine he's quite pi$$ed.............I mean why the cut off date? were people who purchased after that date charged an extra US$100 at point of sale? NO, so why not just make it available to all the owners?

What this means is if your in the US and purchase now you get all this update either already loaded or free to update, wonder if it's the same here in Oz............that's nice, it's almost like Denon are giving us the birdie.

I don't mind paying for an increase in performance like this.......but...........it's a slap in the face when they don't make it across the board for all owners, especially within the same series...........not happy Jan

cheers

All others purchased on or after 1/9/08 - free

All others purchased on or before 31/8/08 - US$100 (no 31st September anyway... ;) )
