My 62" LG rear projection broke in the last days of the sony/samsung promotions so I missed out on the free stuff. Does anybody know when the next round of promotions will start?

I'm tossing up between the Samsung UA55C6900 or the Sony HX700 with both going for ~$3000 these days.

PS. Anybody want to buy a broken DT-62SZ71DB? Its got the issue where it used to power on for 5 seconds then turn off. Now it doesn't turn on at all. I suspect its a power supply issue. Pickup from northside of Brisbane for cheap.

Globe in it is pretty much brand new and got <100 hours on it.

I was told the HX700's are being run out and not made and replaced by the HX800's

Any word on Panasonic or Sony upcoming promotions?

Thought I saw a post with Pana doing a blu-ray or home theatre soon

Wouldnt mind picking up a 50 inch Plasma soon.

Myers (at least in Adelaide) are throwing in a Panasonic blue-ray player with 50 or 54 V series Plasmas.

Spotted a flyer attached to a Pana 54" V20 in HN Bondi. "Free Pana BD HT system in-store with the purchase of this TV". Some of the other models listed were the 65" S-series. I didn't see any 50" models listed on the flyer.

It looked like a promo run by Panasonic but I'm not sure if this is exclusive to HN or not.

Samsung apparently have a new promotion starting Nov 1 - story here, bundles here

Starting next Monday (1 November 2010), consumers who purchase one of eleven Samsung 3D enabled TVs will receive a 22-inch Samsung Series 4 LED TV (UA22C4000), four 3D Blu-ray movie titles (DreamWorks' How To Train Your Dragon and IMAX 3D features: Galapagos, Into the Deep and Mummies: Secrets of the Pharaohs), and four pairs of 3D glasses.

Those who purchase one of nine select 2D Samsung TVs will receive a bonus 3D Blu-ray player (BD-C5900) valued at $299. (This seems ridiculous!)

Samsung says that the promotion runs through to 9th January 2011 or for the first 15,000 redemptions of each bonus package, whichever comes first.

This is rediculous. Give the 3d BD player to buyers of the 2d screen but give everything but a 3D player to the buyers of 3D tv's.....what gives? Are they forcing an addon buy to 3d tv buyers? Plus pretty crappy titles bar train your dragon...

It would seem 3D certainly hasn't been a demand driver as they had hoped...

... but an article in yesterday's Sydney Morning Herald claimed that Aussies had lapped up 3D big-time. It looks like the reality is VERY different to the hype.
