When did they make this promise? ;)

I distinctly recall their advertising campaign promising to deliver it in both SD and HD.

I dont recall that campaign promising to do it forever....

Obviously Ten is feeling the pressure to launch now that 7mate and Gem are on air... the promo on TV and their website both neglect to hint at when Eleven will start.... not even a vague "coming soon", so presumably it isn't going to be soon.

And yes, that logo is a bit too basic. Looks like something someone's 8yo made in MS Paint.

If they had any sense they would have extended their agreement with CBS to cover the name, CBS11 has more impact than just 11... they did that in the UK with CBS Reality, CBS Horror and CBS Action on Freesat and Sky!

Well no...and I wouldn't trust them anyway :)

But they have used phrases like "1 year on our commitment is still the same".

Anyway, I don't really care, they can do whatever the hell they want, as long as I have good quality upscaling I'm not too fussed if it's in SD. I'm actually quite happy with the current dtv situation, there is a lot more to choose from now :)

Is it going to broadcast in HD? If not, it is a waste of time.

What? Why?

I'm an HD nazi as much as anyone, but I can't agree with this. Is ABC2 a waste of time? GO? 7TWO?

The other way to interpret your question is to give away a ton of more spectrum to provide everything in HD, and then *that* will be a waste of time, especially according to Foxtel and the 4G wireless providers.

just heard on the news that this channel will start on january 11, 2011.

The question is, will SC also carry it on that date, or will SC viewers be left out in the cold in the same way that happened when 10 was showing 'breakaway' content on 10 HD?

Unlikely at this point in time, but things can rapidly change. I wouldn't be holding my breath for it though.

I have been getting the impression that SC10 WILL screen 11.

Only because the SC10 General Manager was quoted in a Newcastle paper regarding what programs 11 would be showing (which made me think he wouldn't have bothered commenting on it if they weren't taking it).

Whether they start taking it from on 11/1 also is another thing.

Ive been seeing some promotional advertising of 11 on Ten recently. It doesn't exactly thrill me. Looks like a very bland attempt at advertising with crappy music. Nine and Seven do a better job with promoting Go!, GEM and 7mate respectively.

Any word on foxtel satellite launch on the east coast? they would be crazy not to arrange carriage as all those on satellite are unlikely to switch back and forth to watch channel 11 on terrestial

Is One SD on satellite now? I'd expect 11 to take over that spot. If ONE is not on satellite then 11 won't be.

AFAIK Foxtel doesn't have any of the HD FTA stations on satellite.

This means they don't have GEM, ABC24, or 7mate (for example), and won't have ONE HD.

Then why bother?

There needs to be a massive shakeup of this freeview FTA crap they are dishing up.

Thats why I pay for HD on Foxtel no watermarks on movie channels,no ads, just watched 2012 in brilliant HD

cheers laurie

I think you'll find that Movie Network channels have watermarks on both SD and HD.
