Slattery Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 (edited) Eleven is on Foxtel cable, however it IS NOT on satellite at this stage. You will also need to rescan to get it on 11 instead of 12. Edited January 12, 2011 by Slattery
miata Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 (edited) 7th Heaven starts from Ep1 Series 1. Californication seems to be a couple of series behind. Futurama is being advertised as a "New" ep but on the EPG it isn't carrying the widescreen icon, The All New Simpsons however, is widescreen. It's all very confusing. I didn't see it on the EPG but 2 episodes of Smallville (Series 8) are on Sunday night. I found them on a search of the FOXTEL guide. Another HD show, cast to the rubbish bin that is SD. fredofrog Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Seriously is there anything on at that time on other channels and I can't understand why they don't pull out movies and have it like a movie channel from 9 to 5. Movies don't rate after a while because the catalogue thins out. Go to JB or Video Ezy and the TV SHows sections is doing great business while movies are struggling with downloading and with TV being better quality than movies in recent years

Aurora8 Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 A lot of repeat programmes too. This morning's ep of Cheers is the same as yesterdays. s Of course it was. The late night to dawn programs are all encores from the previous daytime. Only one "new" episode a day, not two.
bobe Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Ten has started advertising their new eleven chanel on tvhttp://eleven.com.au I thought it does not come out till next year
_Roger_ Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Californication seems to be a couple of series behind. The episode I saw was new and only two days behind the US premiere. It had those annoying motion artifacts - I wish Ten would stop with these crap NTSC to PAL conversions. And there were no captions. Roger.

Maybe it's been so long since I saw the last episode, that I can't engage with it any more. Everything I recorded on 11 last night, was blocky as Hell, I'm wondering if all the local transmitters were running reduced power because of the floods. 11 was not the only channel affected, other channels that are usually good, were also bad, ONE WAS "No signal or scrambled" and still is.
fredofrog Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 TV shows also get downloaded by people. and TV is not better quality than Blu-ray, not by a long shot. Quality as in content and not PQ/SQ is my point. Ofcourse Bluray exceeds FTA
Guest fuminggorilla8 Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Quality as in content and not PQ/SQ is my point. Ofcourse Bluray exceeds FTA I knew what you meant and have to totally agree with you. My partner and I have been enjoying tv shows more than movies for the past couple of years now. We buy more tv on dvd than blu-ray.
StephenSLR Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 My partner and I have been enjoying tv shows more than movies for the past couple of years now. Yeah the quality of TV writers has improved vastly, so much you now get big name actors wanting to do the roles for the scripts. s
moa999 Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Quite liked the double EP launch of Stargate Universe (SGU). Now into Season 2 in Canada and US. (20 ep series). Interestingly S1 has just been released on DVD in Aus (Region 4) - has been available elsewhere for a while, and also on bluray for a while http://www.ezydvd.com.au/item.zml/812138
Wags69 Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Anyone reckon 7two, gem and eleven are so close to being the same its just not funny?

reubot Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 Well...get smart moves fron 7two to 11 Hogans heroes moves from 99 to 11 Are Ten just zooming in on SD masters? I seem to remember these show looking better on the other channels...
rennmaxbeta Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Are Ten just zooming in on SD masters? I seem to remember these show looking better on the other channels... Family Ties is awkwardly cropped top and bottom and looks like VHS quality.
yeah Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 (edited) The only shows I watch on 11 are The Simpsons, Californication and Craig Ferguson. I find Craig Ferguson to be hilarious...he just doesn't give a $h!t about anything, a brilliant smartass. He read out an email on the show last night where a guy from Finland said: we don't get your show in Finland so I have to download it illegally on the internet, is this OK with you? Craig responds,"I don't care," and shrugs his shoulders, like the show is not important enough for it to matter. The first night it was on Eleven on launch night he made the whole show about welcoming Australians to the show and made jokes about Australians, with ridiculous Australian accent, which was quite funny. His sense of humour is great. Edited January 18, 2011 by yeah
andys Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Family Ties is awkwardly cropped top and bottom and looks like VHS quality. Everybody Loves Raymonds is the same. I would call it worse than VHS quality. It's so soft it's like watching tv with my glasses off. It's just terrible. A low bit rate combined with zooming in on these older shows is a bad, bad thing. GO looks like HD in comparison to Eleven. Andys.
StephenSLR Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 The only shows I watch on 11 are The Simpsons, Californication and Craig Ferguson. Add Dexter to that list for me. After your review I'll have to check out Craig Ferguson. s

I reckon we should have tonight style show here in Oz again, like the old Steve Vizard show or something. Couldn't be every night though, not enough talent here to fill the show every night! Wags

Wags The Vizard show was a complete rip-off of the Letterman/Carson shows. I used to watch Letterman in the US, come home and see Vizard do virtually the same show a few days later. It was only when the Letterman shows were finally brought to Oz, that people realized that Vizard wasn't original. Do we need another of those? I don't think so. The one good thing I have to say about 11, is that the watermark is tucked away in the bottom right corner. It's probably less obtrusive than the watermark on any other channel. It shouldn't be there at all but there are much worse! I just finished watching the second ep of Smallville (which of course should be in HD) but it occurs to me that the studios need to build some new sets, the "standard, large city set" is being used in every damn show and it's becoming very familiar.
