Afternoon, all.

Am going on holiday for a couple of weeks and have been advised that the place where I'm staying (a friend's house) has a Foxtel dish and outlet left from a previous installation. If I take my IQ2 box with me and plug it into the socket at the holiday house, will I be able to access the service? Or does the IQ box interrogate the dish LNB and if the numbers don't correllate then the channels can't be displayed?

Answers appreciated.

cheers.

If its all in working order and if its the appropriate LNB your IQ will work to some degree. Depending on the age of the installation it may have an LNB that is not capable of receiving all the services. You may also have to adjust your IQs LO setting to suit the LNB. The LO frequency is usually marked on the LNB, but you could try all the settings your IQ supports.

Of course, its assumed that you currently have a sat based IQ not a cable one. The cable one will not work.

Ta muchly for the info. Yes, all satellite. The dual-lnb dish at the other location was put in place about 2 years ago; my current dual-lnb dish has been in place for considerably longer.

cheers.

Although it's against the terms & conditions to relocate a box... it works fine.

Providing the dual LNB is 10700 (which it likely is) and the dish is aligned for the correct satellite... no problem.

Remember, you need both cables from the LNB connected to the iQ2 decoder box, in positions 1 & 2... do not use 3 & 4.

Thanks for the heads-up on the connectors; wouldn't have known otherwise.

cheers.
