Guest Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 (edited) Price is steep, but worth it for all those {expletive deleted} Swearagain quotes in Lossless DTS HDMA! http://www.amazon.com/Deadwood-Complete-Bl..._ecc_rvi_cart_1 Edited November 15, 2010 by Guest
XxDeadlyxX Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 I'd say the price should come down during the Black Friday sales.
melmac Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 It didn't slip under my radar been sitting on the wish list for a while now hoping and praying that it comes down in price with the sales next week cos as much as I want it I won't pay the amount they are currently asking. I have just watched the first season as it screened on the ABC over the last few months, I'm dying to see the rest of it as I don't think the ABC plan on bringing it back until mid next year
Eth Nick Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 I tried to get into this series & failed to, twice. Seemed a bit slow & I wasn't really "getting" some of the plot lines either. But the actor who played the bartender was all class. I would've expected to see him in other shows/films, but haven't noticed.

Great show - but since I bought the DVDs for $15 a season, I think freggin not at those ***** Amazon prices. maybe one day when it c***********t cheaper - DVDs upscaled are enough for **** me here are the quotes that I wish I could ****** put on here - http://amazon.imdb.com/title/tt0348914/quotes Edited November 15, 2010 by tonyjg
tpf Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 Review is up..... http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Deadwood-The...y/13179/#Review Now just need the price to come down....
Director Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 That's only around 50 bux per season, C suckers, seems to be the going rate for blu ray sets?
Director Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 Or feed you to Mr Woos pigs? Speaking of BSG I wonder if THAT will be going for a good price on Friday?
tonyjg Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 (edited) Review is up..... http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Deadwood-The...y/13179/#ReviewNow just need the price to come down.... one point to note : the local Paramount DVDs never had a single extra on them - the HBO Blu's are LOADED TO THE BRIM with HD supplements. i'd be riding this one out - and waiting to see if it gets a local release and maybe a cheaper price - or better, Amazon UK gets them Edited November 16, 2010 by tonyjg
tonyjg Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 (edited) Please point to ANY HBO series that has been released here cheaper than the US price (I'll even let you count DVD releases). ok... DVD wise.... ENTOURAGE - down to $19 a season Oz - via Warner CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM - via Warner THE SOPRANOS - via Warner DEADWOOD - cheapest $15 a season - cheaper via Paramount BAND OF BROTHERS SIX FEET UNDER TRUE BLOOD https://www.jbhifionline.com.au/dvd/dvd-gen...-blu-ray/576858 THE WIRE - less than $19 a season - https://www.jbhifionline.com.au/dvd/dvd-gen...llection/474311 Actually - locally we've scored far better HBO pricing that what the US has had. HBO TV series have been notoriously expensive there. Edited November 16, 2010 by tonyjg

sandy1010 Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Just finished watching the last ep - worth every cent!Curious how many of the cast appear in Sons of Anarchy and Justified - both also well worth a watch! Have seen all three , but I didnt notice a connection between them, what is it? ( creators of the three seem different)
Ex-MTB Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Is this boxset region free, or locked to region A? I don't have a region free blu-ray player.
Sievers Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Is this boxset region free, or locked to region A? I don't have a region free blu-ray player. Blu-ray.com says Region A locked, which is odd considering pretty much every single other HBO release is Region Free. But i'm in the same boat as you - now I have to hope for a local release or UK

sandy1010 Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Seriously? Many of the key cast from Deadwood are in either SOA or Justified - playing similar roles/characters actually SOA = Deadwood on Motorbikes (swap gold for Guns and Drugs, but the same story updated) Justified = Deadwood updated to 21 century hick town USA (even has the same bad tempered sheriff as Deadwood) Yeah I realise the story similarities & actors that are the same. I was wondering if there was a connection in regards to production and/or writing.
