Lef Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Guys, need help Can anyone share the original files from the PRO kit for BDP-93. I accidentally removed them I bought it from bluraychip.dk but I think they are all the same even from other stores.

If you're after the firmware for the pro mod kit, there are different versions depending on which version you have based on shipping date - see here and click on the Kit Support tab. The earlier and current firmware for each is linked. If you're after Oppo firmware, let me know what version you're after.

It seems I need to try both 1H and 1G. One of them should work. So, I need to copy firmware and upgrade files to one Sandisk and put into front USB? the Sandisk which is inserted into the Kit can be empty or has some other files? Thanks a lot for your help!
Quark Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 What are you trying to fix? The 1G and 1H pro kit firmware won't work with recent Oppo firmware. It's problematic rolling back to an earlier Oppo firmware than your current version if you're on a version that doesn't have ISO support. Use a 4Gb or smaller USB formatted to FAT32 or 16. No other files!!!! I've always loaded the Oppo and pro kit firmware separately. After loading either firmware you're best resetting to default settings and unplugging from the wall for a minute before restarting.
Lef Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 My problem is that I removed the original files (PRO kit firmware) from USB (the one which is installed into the PRO kit) by mistake. Consequently it does not change regions. Now I need those files back. Where can I get them and how to install? I have the latest Oppo firmware. Questions: 1. Where can I get the files for PRO kit? 2. How to install? Sorry, but from the instruction by the link provided I did not get the answers.
Quark Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 If you removed the USB stick installed in the pro kit and need to replace it, see post #1307 back a couple of pages - there's a little more detail in the following posts. If you only need to flash the firmware, see the instructions in the zip files I linked to.
Lef Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Thanks! I restored my PRO kit and upgraded to the latest firmware. Now it changes the regions. But I still have a problem with one of my many blu-ray discs. Oppo says it cannot be played because of the wrong region code. 0770 menu says the region is correct.
Lef Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Original Blu-Ray disc "Cloud Atlas". Zone "C". Can be played on PC and PS3. Oppo 93 does not play
Quark Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Have you tried using region A and B? Just in case of a coding error.
Lef Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Yes, Oppo powers up with 1, 2 or 3 and the regions are changing. Probably sonething wrong with the disc. but it is really strange that PS3 is able to play it.
Quark Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 You could try contacting bluraychip.dk to see if they have a solution. Best to advise the UPC on the disc. Their service can be lackadaisical but it doesn't hurt to ask.

alf56 Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Hi,has anyone else bought Elysium on blue ray,i bought it from Kmart yesterday ($19.00,bargain). But when i decided to play it last night what do i get immediate audio drop outs, had to set audio output on the oppo to LPCM to cure it, worked fine then, but had to crank the volume up higher than usual to get a reasonable level. Oppo 93 HDMI 1 video only to Samsung La40b650 TV, HDMI 2 to Yamaha RX-V665 receiver, only other blue ray I've had audio problems with is Totall Recall.

Disregard this, disc was clean when it went in the player,i decided to check disc again today and it must of picked up a pet hair from the disc tray, blew hair off disc, tried it again on bitstream, and it worked perfectly, just goes to show always check the basics. Guest tyee Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Back in post 1311 kpothuwila has a link to some files. I downloaded them to see what they were and I'm confused. I thought the firmware files were the bluimage.frm and bluimg2.frm files. What are the ones in that post for?? I have the US oppo and the bluraychip kit. Great thread here with lots of info so I'm trying to get my facts before I try the latest upgrade of both the oppo and bluraychip.
Quark Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 If you go here and click on the Kit Support tab, you'll see what they refer to. In essence the bluraychip professional kits went through a series of running changes and each version has different firmware requirements - it's important to use the correct firmware based on when you purchased your kit.
Guest tyee Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 Yes, all those kits have the .frm files in them. That other post I mentioned has 6 .bin files and 3 .img files. That's what's confusing to me.
Quark Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 OK, believe those were for people who had a faulty internal usb stick on their pro mod and were physically replacing the stick.
SimonNo10 Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 (edited) Quick question. I've got the BDP-95 with the Pro Mod purchased through Merlin Audio (not sure how long ago now), is it normal for a Red light to be constantly flashing (seen under the unit but inside)? I have just assumed it's the mod at work. Just want to make sure it's normal behaviour. I also find that the fan comes on only after about a minute in operation but doesn't happen all the time. blairy Posted February 19, 2014 Author Posted February 19, 2014 (edited) SimonNo10, I've got the pro mod, installed it myself on US BDP93. I've never noticed the flashing you refer to and I think I would..that sort of thing annoys me Might be best to check with Merlin. Edited February 19, 2014 by blairy

The flashing red led is on the usb stick on the Professional kit. You can replace the stick if you want. Let me know if you want to do this and I will send instructions. 2. Try removing the power from the BDP-95. See if the fan remains off when the BDP-95 is then turned on. The heat sensor for the fan is on the main board. The box could be cool to touch but the mainboard be hot. The fan shouldn't come on immediately, but other than above I have no solution.
blairy Posted March 1, 2014 Author Posted March 1, 2014 Poop, my pro mod isn't working. What a bummer. When I go into setup and press 0770 it tells me I'm set to Region C. Buttons 1, 2 and 3 don't turn the player on. I suppose I try a firmware reinstall first. As I understand it if that doesn't do the trick replace the USB inside. I got my mod direct from Bluraychip. blairy
