Hi folks, this is my 1st post so please forgive me if I have placed this in the wrong location

I have some mark Levinson amps that I am thinking of selling.

I have 2 ML-2 power amps and 2 x ML-6 pre-amps

Can anyone advise or direct me as do what they are worth? how or where I should sell them?

I have checked ebay and as they are rare have not found an equivalent sale.

Any advice would be appreciated.

PS if I should have posted this on another place, please tell me. :)

Cheers andrew

Wow, ML-2's, it must be like 30 years since I heard a pair of them. Class A @ 20 watts if I remember rightly, rated at 50 watts but they never made anywhere near that. An early (maybe even the original) solid state design for electrostatic speakers. The heat sinks blew me away back then and still do. The last I saw for sale was in the Mark Levinson dealer in Hawaii a couple of years ago. I think he wanted $10K for the pair. maybe it was each, and they didn't look that flash.

The ML-6 pre amps I can't say as I remember seeing back then, but I know they bring good $'s now. I have seen a pair sell for $8K in the US, late last year I think it was. They were pretty mint and had the timber cabinet which was also perfect in appearance.

If you really want to sell them, I wouldn't I'd keep them myself, then on the Vintage Hi Fi Forums is a good place to start, especially in the US. They go crazy bidding over ML stuff especially the 70/80's legends like ML-2's and ML-6's.

Cheers

The ml2's would sure have some attraction, anyone watched Dan agostinos you tube would hear how they were his inspiration for developing the krell range of amps.

Stick em on the for sale sub forum here, stick them on audiogon, eBay etc. Sure will be some interest.

A quick Google search found the following,

http://www.marklev.com/ [[ just click on the blue model number ]]

I've done a search on AudiogoN, E-bay USA and E-bay UK and found zip

As to what there worth, At the present time, it's anyone's guess, as

things are simply not selling the way they did 12 months ago. Unfortunately

the days of fancy money are long gone, Sure people will all tell you what

they think something is worth, but stop short when it comes to buying themselves.

You could try Hi Fi Exchange http://www.hifiexchange.com.au/ in

Melbourne. They sell a lot of Vintage Kit, and there percentage is quite

reasonable, unlike some Dealers who On-sell, and triple the price they paid you.

You could also post an EOI [ expressions of interest ] here and on SNA, also

on Mick Jones forum http://www.audioenz.co.nz/.

and see if you get a bite. But really your not going to get anything like the money they cost new
