The listing has just been removed. Jeff
danter Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Thats 180 x 40 = $7200. Wonder how many actually paid straight away? What sort of idiot buys a $400 itouch for $40 and think it is not a scam but a very good deal? I must put them onto my cousin in Nigeria (poor bugger cant get his cash out of the country)
pepperlibido Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 (edited) http://cgi.ebay.com.au/BEATLES-BALLADS-VINYL-LP-12-/170531232398?pt=AU_Recordsis there something i am missing. See this one all the time for between $5-$10 Yeah. Purchased one on eBay two weeks ago for $5.75 plus $3.00 for postage in NM condition. It was advertised in VG condition however, it is better than that. Near new. But thanks for the link. After looking at the rest of his items I found a couple of LP that I want and that are actually in the right price range also he combines shipping. Each additional LP is $1.00 postage, not bad. Edit: I'm checking on this - some of his listings show $1.00, some free, some"contact me first" and yet others make no mention of additional shipping. Will post his reply. Edited August 27, 2010 by pepperlibido Information in doubt?

Monkeyboi Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 Apparently people will bid on any vintage junk. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/2-Vintage-RCA-MA-9350-Tube-Amplifiers-/280555229311?pt=AU_Electronics_Audio_Amplifiers&hash=item415265107f Got to be seen to be believed these rusty and non-working relics are worth over $300 to someone. Cheers, Alan R.

danter Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 Maybe they are collectable and have historic value? (I agree they look like rusty crap - but so would a rusted out 59 corvette)
Monkeyboi Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Maybe they are collectable and have historic value? (I agree they look like rusty crap - but so would a rusted out 59 corvette) No valves. 110v models so a step-down transformer would be required to operates them here in Australia. The mains tranformers have significantly rusted laminations. Hardly collectable as there are at least 4 ELNA electrolytics under each chassis which post date the original poduction of these amplifiers by several decades. Likewise most of the resistors except the two large black chassis mounted wirewounds and one 10k 2W carbon composition resistor. IMHO the only historic value these might have would be to a collector of cinema equipment. Cheers, Alan R.
Monkeyboi Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 If anyone is interested, here is link to the service manual. http://www.oswaldsmillaudio.com/images/rca%20museum%20pics/archive%20pdf's/MI-9325%20Amplifier.pdf Makes for some interesting reading, especially the frequency response and distortion figures. Cheers, Alan R.
Jake Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 I like this one: The Beatle ~Lubber Soul/ Japan LP/ OBI Sheet ~McCartney
GryphonGuy Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 The other really good laugh is that the photo must not be what you are getting because the listing says UNOPENED yet we have a lovely photo of the gear in place!

danter Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 KEF Concertos - the most mint pair on ebay would be lucky to achieve over $500. So how does this pair get to $777 with 7 hrs to go? Dodgy looking bid list ... http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280558537731&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
danter Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 Yes a pair went recently for $180. That was all they were worth (shabby kit pair) - unfortunately they will more than likely be broken up by the buyer as the driver set is worth a lot more.
