I guess the Chinese call it "englese" and poke fun at it

It does look like an perspex VPI! Even if it costs $US100 to get here, it mightn't be bad!

I'd be VERY interested to hear if anybody has tried one of those. It looks like a perspex VPI 16.5 and I'd imagine works pretty well!

Perhaps change of direction? This is also listed on SNA...

I spy what appear to be a couple of Monster offerings.

Nothing jumps out as being of oustanding quality or value.

Caveat Emptor would be my advice.

The seller has offered a 'viewing' of his cables...........so why not take him up on the offer?

But it does come with a FULL one year warranty. Peace of mind as so much can go wrong with a plastic box. If anyone is interested, I can supply the same thing in cardboard for half the price. You do lose a little of the high transparent feeling though.

Well as it is now nearing the end of 2010, we can at least see if his earlier predictions were correct - but that means we only really need to learn about 2011 to 2014 - that's only 3 years - 60% of his prediction which still has relevance (assuming he was on the right track for the first 2 years). Hence this book demands at least a 40% reduction, which makes it a bargain in anyone's book (except of course the sane among us).

Even if you were contemplating starting up a boutique Tube amp business - would you buy this book?

How much do they charge for a display case so I can show off my collection of Audio Technica catridge storage boxes? How much for a shelf to hold my diplay cases containing Audio Technica cartrige storage boxes? ...

Just googled the author. Apparently he some automated method for writing books and is listed on Amazon as being the author of 107,00 books. According to wiki

Ah i see. It would help no end if there was some explanation on the listing on Ebay. A simple "I got carried away" would make plenty of sense to most of us. He wouldn't be the first.

Nothing went wrong, the amp is brand new, just an impluse buy that was clearly explained in the SNA listing. I'm obviously no good at this selling caper, everytime I list the amp somebody thinks it's suss, I can assure you it's not.

I will await the release of his 'collected works' once I have a Terabyte iPad to store them. His reflections on Solid State amps 1974 - 81 is now touted as a seminal work.

Very surprised this hasn't sold. If I were in the market for a Pre, this would be very high on the list. Ignore the doubters - bit of a waste of effort. What are you using instead of this fine unit?

Well, nothing really, Im very new at all of this and have spent money I should be keeping for a house deposit. Seemed like a good idea at the time. I built a set of speakers that sound great to me & had and bought a Kingrex T20 to run them, then thought I'd buy the pre then another Kingrex to biamp, once I had purchased the pre i started thinking what the hell am I doing, shouldn't be spending this money . I had previously bought an Integra reciever (on special) when the wife gave me the boot, and am now using that, which sound pretty good really. This whole HiFi thing is a bit too addictive.

With the exception of the see through case, the resemblence is uncanny. Right down to the vacuum wand, the front panel switches and the record clamp.

It looks just like my VPI RCM, except it's naked. :P

Cheers,

Alan R.
