But some people would be willing to pay extra for that charcoal smell. That guy has about 4 auctions with same photo. I wonder how long it will take him to realise ?

That's a Dog's Breakfast of a LP Kit Build.

Looks like he's hand applied Tru-oil and then varnished it [and badly at that], and the price he's asking is about $60 more than the kit costs .

Still, have you seen recent made in USA Gibson Les Pauls ?, some are only slightly better.

Gibson is closing down it's Tennessee production plant, and is unable to service US $520 million in debt...., Fender's in not quite as bad shape as Gibson, but not in a healthy shape financially either.

Most stupid ‘overhaul’ by a professional technician I have seen (if it was so in the first place and not by the owner who is just being dishonest).

Hacking into the back panel, removing the original Japanese 100V ac lead and fitting an IEC inlet is just asking for trouble especially for a newbie or absent minded person they can just plug in any old IEC ac cable to our 240v mains and smoke the amplifier. Not to mention it ruins the originality or this piece of equipment.

Also no pictures of internals, something says any capacitors replaced are problem generic garbage or old used crap brands/model/type.

cheers,

Assumptions. So you know that these are multiple voltage?? They can be converted very easily to 240v. It's been done with plenty of them. Also the seller sells some pretty good stuff. It doesn't ruin the origin nality at all as it can be reversed. It just negates the need for a step down.

I'd be sending him a PM before assuming.

I don’t care if its multi voltage or not as I have not 1 but owned 2 of these units both restored before I would not even think twice about having an IEC inlet installed in that fashion and method. It shows laziness on the techs part, at least have a small piece of evenly cut out square piece to sit behind the chassis mount IEC inlet so the bottom open space is covered or at least have it aligned in the first place before it’s cut for the IEC connector. It ruins the originality of the unit especially since it is a good sounding unit and they are no longer in production.

Omg you've owned two???!! Jeepers. Why didn't you say so? Then we would have all known our place. I hope you never need a heart valve. Wouldn't want to ruin your no longer in production originality :hiccup

Nice immature response, the ‘booze emoticon’ suits the manner of your response perfectly.

Looks like a nice amp. Having owned more Yamaha vintage amps than I care to get RSI listing, (besides who cares) I'm sure someone will be very happy with their purchase. Others I'm sure won't have it shipped to their high horse. But that's the joy of collecting. Now if you'll excuse me I'm off to check a dusty copy of a prehistoric parchment to work out exactly what "booze" is.
