Exciting times ahead for you, certainly, Blade.

None of us can wait for your review, mate.

I tried to check one out on the weekend but the retailer is waiting to sell their showroom demo Denon AVP-A1HDA to make way for an Anthem D2v. Their "best price", can't-be-refused-price, is, erm, $10,500.00. And that's for a unit they've had there for quite a number of months (possibly a year or more). Hmm; looks as though I may be waiting for quite a while before I will even be able to sniff, I mean, see, an Anthem D2v in action.

Dan.

Thanks Dan. The Anthem D2V requires a Firmware update right off the bat as we've gone from 2.09 to 2.10 since Jason ordered the units. There's been another ARC Beta version as well. Anthem seem to be right on top of any issues and updates are released frequently (Users can contact Anthem Support and receive a reply usually the same day).

Drop Jason a PM regarding the Anthem D2V and see what he can do for you. $9,999:00AUD is the official RRP for the unit so I don't know where $10,500:00AUD comes from. $9500:00AUD should be readily achievable from the likes of Audio Trends.

Regards

Sounds like exceptional customer service from Anthem.

Sorry; I probably did not make myself very clear, regarding the $10,500.00. That price was from that retailer for their demo Denon AVP-A1HDA unit. They reckon it's a not-to-be-refused price to get rid of it so that they can get a demo Anthem D2v unit in.

I can't see good value in that Denon price. RRP of a brand-new unit is $12,999.00. This particular unit has been in their store for quite a number of months so I cannot see great value in it. Maybe for $9,000.00 it would be pretty good value for a locally-sourced unit.

However, I can't wait for someone to purchase that Denon AVP-A1HDA to make way for an Anthem D2v; I really want to see one in action.

That makes more sense sorry Dan. After all my research I wouldn't pay $10,500,00 for a Denon AVP-A1HD considering you can import one for around $6000:00AUD landed. Given the upgradability of the Anthem D2V I'd still purchase it over anything else (Not to mention the Audiophile Analogue section which of course would interest you greatly Dan - it's supposed to be superb and as good as many high priced outboard DAC's).

It goes from awesome to totally extreme awesome! (Its got me kinda excited - even to the point that we had to join the forum to post in this thread!)

Cheers!

Nice to see you on the forum - not sure if it's Simon/Mark from AudioTrends?

Really looking forward to this Processor - I've read the AVS Forum thread top to bottom. Now to implement all that knowledge! I've read from every review ARC is a revelation.

If I were to purchase a new Denon AVP-A1HDA, it would be from Singapore as one can be purchased for such a reasonable price from Singapore. Including postage, we are looking at under AUD$7,000.00.

However, the Anthem is the one I shall be looking at because now that its RRP has reduced to a very reasonable $9,999.00, I cannot think of a product at this sort of price-range that I would rather consider.

And yes, the audiophile analogue section interests me a lot indeed.

I'm hoping to get my D2v by the weekend. I'll be very keen to hear it's performance in 2ch mode to see if it can displace my stereo pre. I don't hold any doubt that it will be amazing for HT.

No worries guys. Once I've set it up and got my head around it's performance I'll report back.

Colin, first impressions of the JLTi Oppo SE are really good, though I've not had too much time to listen to it in the week that I've had it. Together with the D2v I am expecting a nice step forward from the previous BD source & processor set up I had. If nothing else, I will at least have a reduction in box count

If there is enough people keen, we can hold a DTV / D2V listening afternoon here at our showrooms?

Perhaps on a Saturday afternoon? Just a bit of an informal listening session pre and post the ARC processing in both multi/ch mode and 2/ch

Let me know and we'll lock down a date...

Cheers!

I wish I live in Melbourne!

If you guys still have a D2v on demo in October, I shall pay a visit because I shall be in Melbourne for six nights in October.

You beat me to it, mate. I was going to PM you, regarding a visit.

By then, your D2v should be all run-in and set-up. :D

You might have a problem getting rid of me, then.

Hmm... well could all save a lot of money by just moving into Blade's place and paying rent. You got much spare room, Blade? I'm happy on the floor in the home theatre room, to be honest.

Edit - A good test as to the responsiveness of Anthem Technical Support. I E-mailed them asking for the User/Password to the secure site where you can download Firmware/ARC Beta etc - I had a reply in 34 minutes (Yes minutes not days!)
