Exciting times indeed Only 2 more sleeps, mate. Excited? I know I am. Lord knows what I'm going to be like when I actually start getting my own gear. Do you reckon the SVS AS-EQ1 will have as big a role in your setup after ARC has worked it's magic? Struggling to find a definitive statement on whether ARC does enough to make a dedicated Sub EQ really necessary.

Yes I still believe the SVS AS-EQ1 is central to the HT and I'll still be using it in earnest. From what I've read ARC does a great job with the .1 Channel but I suppose it's best I try both methods (with and without AS-EQ1) before making a decision on that. Given my extreme satisfaction with the AS-EQ1 I can't imagine I'll be removing it from the equation. ARC can handle the rest (Just as Audyssey Pro did) of the channels. Regards Blade
AudioTrends Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Cool. Some interest in an an Anthem afternoon. We're not wanting to make it a sales afternoon, just a meet and listening session. (but we can discuss GB!! ) Working on a date at the moment. Cheers!

Dan. Too... many... group... buys... So we've got a Submersive GB, a potential Catalyst GB, a potential SVS AS-EQ1 GB, now a potential Anthem D2V GB. I know I should be thrilled to bits, given these are all items that are cemented on my shopping list, but there's just one slight problem. They're all happening too close together!!! If only it was January already. I'd be starting to get together the sort of cash necessary to play this game.

I wish I had a never ending source of cash lol...so I could just get whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted lol.

Yartle Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 I'd be very interested in hearing a D2v and Arcam AVR600 or AV888 comparison. I don't think it would be much competition for movies but it may be closer for music. Anthem is still top of my wish list though.

If it's 2ch music your chasing do be sure to also check out some dedicated 2 ch gear, might be a lot cheaper. But understand that some might want one with the lot
BladeRnR Posted August 13, 2010 Author Posted August 13, 2010 Going out to see Jason with Lensman @ 10:00am and finally bring the Anthem D2V home. Actually the wait was a walk in the park compared to the Seaton speakers A day of Updating Firmware, ARC / Processor configuration await but hopefully we'll have some sound by tonight. I've wanted this unit since about 1997 so really looking forward to it. Blade

I'm sure your gonna have a ball playing around with all the settings and listening to the difference in sound. Have fun and make sure you come back with a short user review..............by tonight lol!
BladeRnR Posted August 14, 2010 Author Posted August 14, 2010 (edited) Ok the Anthem D2V is home now Firstly a big thank-you to Jason V for organising the unit through BPP. Secondly a big thanks to Lensman for the assistance in picking it up... Out of the box impressions before I get to the Firmware etc: 1. Well packed in plastic foam 2. Weight about 12.5Kg's for the unit itself 3. Manual is well printed and has plastic back and front (And you don't have to bend pages - it's the small things) 4. Separate box for the ARC-1 gear (MIC, etc) 5. Accessories box contains 2 remotes (Wasn't expecting that - they look identical) and FM/AM Antenna. I'll get some photos when I've hooked it up but lots to do before I hear sound out if it. Regards Blade Edit - It looks like the remotes are identical so somebody checking something left an extra one in there and also....No ARC-1 Software CD which contains Microphone Serial/Unit Serial so can't calibrate for the moment.
