darth vader Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 It will be interesting to see if it gets released here. Pioneer seems to have given up on Australia these days.
betty boop Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 solid looking thing ! yes hope it comes here. and good to see their commitment to disc players
cafe67 Posted September 30, 2017 Author Posted September 30, 2017 Looks vaguely esoteric , be interesting to compare to my cds2100
Fun-Ghoul Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 Well it is on the Pioneer Australia website, and shown as retailing for $699.00 - wish I could buy one before they realise they have made a mistake. Good to see Pioneer taking 2 channel more seriously these days. Can't wait for a PL-61 2018 TT 1

Fun-Ghoul Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 I agree with cafe67 - it does look like precedent players of the dogs-bollocks variety.
Fun-Ghoul Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 If the A-70 amp is $2099, fair to assume that the player will go for similar?
cafe67 Posted October 3, 2017 Author Posted October 3, 2017 Scarily according to pioneer website, the only dealers in WA for this , are the various job hifi - not listed in their website (yet?)
cafe67 Posted October 8, 2017 Author Posted October 8, 2017 (edited) $699 price has gone from.pioneer website. £2000 at the moment, is about $3400, which pouts above the Yamaha cds2100 and the similar priced Marantz unit (sa14s1?), but below their top spec models cds3000 and sa10s1 Edited October 8, 2017 by cafe67
cafe67 Posted October 12, 2017 Author Posted October 12, 2017 I emailed the distributor as regards availability and pricing, week later still waiting for a response ??
cafe67 Posted October 13, 2017 Author Posted October 13, 2017 But got this reply from.Pioneer electronics Australia. Hi Dave, in short, yes it is because it's featured on the Pioneer Home Aus website - https://www.pioneeraudio.com.au/products/pd-70ae-super-audio-cd-player That said, Pioneer sold it's home business around 3 years ago. It was sold to a newly formed company called Pioneer/Onkyo. This new company is completely separate from Pioneer Corporation. The new company has appointed Powermove as the Aus distributor, therefore we have no control or influence over their communication/responses to customers. We can only help as much as we can

cafe67 Posted October 13, 2017 Author Posted October 13, 2017 Yeah kinda wired hey, I remember when they sold off or closed down their plasma telly side of things. But there are 2 seperate websites pioneer electronics Australia which seem to sell car audio, dj gear and similar , and there's pioneer audio Australia which sells all the hifi and home theatre gear ??? 1

cafe67 Posted October 13, 2017 Author Posted October 13, 2017 For £2000 I would not be happy to see made in China on it.

cafe67 Posted October 13, 2017 Author Posted October 13, 2017 Malaysia is fine by me , great country n friendly people
cafe67 Posted October 26, 2017 Author Posted October 26, 2017 Well 3 emails to power move AV regarding this model and not a single reply. Really quite 5h1te
darth vader Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 (edited) Like I said above, Pioneer has given up on Australia. Its all down to grey imports now. Dont expect any support other than what a retailer will give. I'm a long time Pioneer fan and am quite disappointed at their decision to diss the aussie market. I cant see any reason to support them anymore it they cant see a reason to support us. Edited October 29, 2017 by darth vader 2
cafe67 Posted November 5, 2017 Author Posted November 5, 2017 (edited) very odd - I've sent powermovepower ive AV 4 emails and commented on their Facebook page without a single response . And its its still makes me laugh, when business go "oh you get better support from a bricks and mortar business" if if this their response to a sales enquiry , I'd hate to see what their after sales service is like. Ray H Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 Supposedly in stock at this Sydney dealer, cheaper than the UK price too; https://www.digitalcinema.com.au/pioneer-pd-70ae-sacd-player-with-dual-ess-dac-chips.html 1

Exactly, I was after a pioneer n50 for ages and couldn't find one anywhere, finally got one from greys online when it was a discontinued product, I also got burnt by a rude individual on here for buying a grey import and not supporting local stores.....some people.....
andrewp Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 (edited) I think to buy a grey import is totally fine. If you ever intend on selling it that should be advertised in the ad. Retail margins through dealers in alot of cases are just insane in every sense of the word. In alot (not all) of cases they get the stock in when ordered. Profit is not a dirty word and sellers have every right to make margin. Im in business myself and appreciate customer support but if my pricing isnt sharp the sale flys away..end of story.
