now that's something

a serious cruiser

what do you use it for?

Hi mate, its actually not really a cruiser as such, more of an all rounder. In the photo i have the bike set up with Super Moto tyres as i am mostly just riding around tracks with my kids these days.

The frame and fork allow for fat wheels and tyres if only off roading, which i sometimes run.  I rode downhill 7"+ dual suspension bikes when i was younger and find this bike very comfortable for all kinds of riding

My new ride - TCR Advanced Pro 1

Giant have a great range of bikes. I was tossing between the TCR  Advanced sl 1 or the Focus izalco max. Replacing my Canyon ultimate CF SLX, frame damaged after an accident.

@Juicester - Awesome. Looks the goods. Been out on it much yet?

@yamaha_man - Nice e-bike.. not sure it qualifies though.. ?

The Canyon got a bit of a run in last week - 500km from the West coast to East coast of Malaysia, with a few mountains thrown in for good measure. The conditions of the roads were very varied - some good, some gravel. Also got my first (pinch) flat in 2 years, to be followed with a cut tyre about 70km later..

Sadly still unridden. Bought one week before I had an arthroscopy- almost back in shape for a spin now. Couldn’t leave it in the shop as the price was so good I knew it’d be sold by the time I’d recovered from surgery!

New casual cruiser, good to finally get a bike that I can just bang around on with my son:thumb:

Getting out on a bike is rarely a bad thing!

There's this, the one I couldn't possibly afford when it was new.  Now that it's 42 years old, and fitted out with Suntour Superbe Pro almost-everything, it ain't the bike that's holding me back from immediate call-up to the world tour teams.  Still, I'll hit 6,000 k on it for the year some time next week.IMG_4619.thumb.jpg.462090adb96652e12635f49dc95be948.jpg

Finally clocked a few rides on it - particularly the 100km round the bay. It's amazing how comfortable the thing is. The first ride I did on it I told my wife I realised I wasn't good enough for the bike - it kept asking me to give more, it just wants to go; and I didn't have enough in the tank! :P

Takes some getting used to how twitchy the steering is; so much more responsive. And the low weight is a revelation up the hills. Happier than a pig in mud.

Haven't had the misfortune of a puncture yet - as it's my first bike with tubeless clinchers I'm a bit worried about how that's going to go down....  :P

Sounds awesome!

How do find the tubeless roll? I can go tubeless on the Canyon, but haven't tried it yet.

On tyres - what size are they? I've found that 28's roll fast and provide very good levels of comfort..

I've just put a set of these tan wall tyres on my Roubaix in 25's.

Best tyre I've used this side of a Vittoria tub. These 25's replaced a 25 front 27 rear Corsa "Roubaix" set and even with the narrower rear, this Clydesdale is happy. The tan side wall looks cool too.

Saw these - tan walls will definitely be considered as they look good against a completely blacked out bike. Would love to get them in a 28 though..

i put a set recently on my propel sl 0 and to be honest, dont find them any better then the conti gp4000s11.
I'll keep them on the stock deep dish wheels that came with the bike, and continue to use the conti's on the zipp wheels

that "Graphene+" sound a bit snake-oilish

"When the road is straight, the compound will be at its hardest, ensuring minimal rolling resistance. During braking, acceleration or cornering, the compound becomes softer, for maximum grip"

We are quite different weights which may be a reason but if your pressures and tyres widths are identical, I've never known anyone (myself included) to prefer the Conti's for feel, however they used to have superior puncture protection to the Vittorias (not sure if these new Corsas have caught up), but GP4000s also square off on the rear tyre quite early in their life cycle. I used a few sets of GP4000s back when riding much bigger miles than currently, but found them squirmy in corners so swapped to Vittorias some time ago and these Graphene ones are the best yet for feel. It was riding the coarse Kew Boulevard surface 3 weeks back that confirmed how much better these were.

Being honest, I fitted them for aesthetics, not because my old Corsa tyres were worn out, but glad I did

Quite possibly the marketing is, but my bum gauge is pretty accurate, and these tyres rock.

pretty sure these are 25's...  have to look. Found they ran well low, also low pressures (i.e. 90psi).

well i am 74 kilo, and run the same pressures on both sets of rims and both sets of tyres are 25's
Though to be fair, the zipps are a wider rim, so could be stretching out the conti's.
Mate of mine who always rode on the original corsas (tubular) also swore by them, and was surprised when i told him i didnt think they were any better.
Maybe i'll swap the tires over soonish and see what my feelings on them are once they are on the zipp wheels

Ta mate. I looked @ the propel too, but a 'end of season' sale meant this one was to hard to pass up for $2600.

After riding XC bikes for the last few years I decided to join the cool kids and get something a bit slacker and bigger. Have had this for about 5 months and haven’t touched the XC bike since! Also means I get to ride more trails with my young bloke. Damn they are fun, if you’re on the fence DO IT!IMG_0785.jpgIMG_0844.jpg

nice! not mucking round with that bad boy. Can't tell what model, not been paying much attention these days - Sight?  has a similar design DNA to my old Flow LT (which does looks a bit Frankenstein in comparison....)

Lynskey R230, 2013 model just clocked up 55,000 kms. I had to replace the chainrings last week with 30,000 kms on them so I'm not complaining.
