Gday,

I’m sure I’m not alone on SN in having a bunch of TT cartridges, well, just sort of laying around...

I haven’t yet worked out a decent way to store them. Sooooo, some are in one box, some another, another a drawer, another couple an old jewellery box, a door stop (jokes!) and luckily then a couple in their original boxes. You get the message. The worst are those without guards as I just know it’s only a matter of time before an errant sleeve catches a cantilever and snappo! $100-600 later...

Question is, can anyone out there share a cool DIY or otherwise method for neatly/safely/stylishly storing their cartridge collection? Any pics would be helpful! While on the topic one that includes headshells is even better[emoji106]

but have seen this on the net which looks easy enough to DIY.

Add a cover like this and you're away laughing.

Nice storage idea aside that is a very fine lineup of cartridges you have there my good sir [emoji108]
The cored timber will work well. I’ll have a think about how to incorporate carts with no headshell.

What an excellent suggestion @mloutfie   and a reasonable price too. Even cheaper for the four head version.

There are a number of larger and smaller options on their listing .

This one is quite nice.

I made up something similar at the weekend but with out a lid. Not sure if I would have bothered if I had seen these.

This should be easy to DIY emulate.  Find a suitable sized box - a jewelery box may be the right size, or something from an op shop.    Then buy appropriate thickness foam from Clarke Rubber - get the grey "medical grade" stuff.  A thin layer goes on the bottom and in the lid.  Then a thicker layer for the bottom and the lid - these have cutouts for the cartridges/headshells.  The grey medical foam is easy to cut with a trimming knife.
